One of the many favorite aspects in games like Horizon Forbidden West is exploring. Gamers who have played Horizon Zero Dawn will tell you that exploring the ruins of the world is one of their favorite moments in-game, so it’s nice to see that Guerilla Games has upped the exploration in Horizon Forbidden West.
Door Code Relic Ruins The Daunt – Horizon Forbidden West
The Daunt can be found in the games starting area, and can be easily identified from its appearance. It looks like a rundown and destroyed building.
Go inside the building and you will see a yellow handhold above Aloy. These usually means that Aloy can climb up or use them in order to traverse the open world. In Ruins, these are your guide to progress the ruins.
Inside the building should be a metal crate with the same yellow color. Press Triangle on the crate and you will be able to move it. Place the crate under the yellow handhold and climb the crate, which will let you climb up the handhold and onto the second floor.
On the second floor, you’ll see a door that needs a code and a key. Since you don’t have both, continue on for now through the balcony left of the door.
Jumping a gap will lead you to the other balcony where you can drop down to the floor below. Once you land, look for a purple collectible. Scan it with Aloy’s Focus in order to get the door code, which is 1705. Turn around and you’ll see a second crate above you. Use your Pullcaster to retrieve it by yanking it down.
Turn around again to see a vent, where you need to use the Pullcaster again to yank it open. Next to it, there should be a blue anchor point that you can use the Pullcaster to pull an overhang. Place the crate at the bottom of the overhang and jump towards it, climb up then jump to the vent.
Once you’ve crawled through the vent, you’ll find a blue anchor point on a wall. Pull it down because it will be important later. Go down the hole on the ground to find a yellow ledge to climb, which breaks down due to how old it is. Go further down and look up to see a blue anchor point. Pull it down and go back up.
Once back up, grab the crate and push it down the hole on the ground. Go down and push it towards the yellow ledge that broke, allowing you to climb up now.
Once you reach the roof, you can see a balcony to your right with an item on the ground. Jump down to the balcony and you’ll get the key.
Now with both key and code in both hands, return to the locked door and open it. Once open, claim your prize.
