Finding hard-to-reach places in video games like Horizon Forbidden West should come with its own achievement sometimes. Even if the map is only a third of what the main story has to offer, it’s still pretty difficult to look for one person where there are hundreds of islands to go through.
But don’t worry, the Burning Shores aren’t big enough for Pirik to hide in. Now that he has prisoners for you to rescue it’ll only be a matter of time until they pop up. Read the guide below to find the location of Pirik’s Camp and find Lan!
Find Pirik’s Camp & Find Lan | Horizon Forbidden West | Burning Shores
Finding Pirik’s camp will only be possible while you’re doing the “In His Wake” side quest, a pretty important one too since you can get an upgrade for your Specter Gauntlet after you finish it. That will have to wait though, you still have a few objectives to go through.
Start the quest and go back to the island you visited during “The Stars In Their Eyes” side mission, there’s a corpse near the shore here along with the shrine, supply crate, and the scroll with some vague hints that lead to Pirik’s camp.
Follow the waypoint that the quest will provide you and refer to the image above for the exact location of Pirik’s camp.
It’s better to go through the main entrance on foot to save the fighting for later, make a right turn towards a boarded-up ruin, and pry open the door to release some Quen prisoners who’re out for blood.
Valea will tell you that there are more Quen prisoners locked underground, head right into the tunnel and make a right turn once you go in deeper. There are some stairs leading further down along with a gate that needs to be operated on both ends in order for the both of you to get through.
Your next objective is to get the key module from one of the rooms on the second floor. Use your Pullcaster to hoist yourself up into the red room with a dragon symbol on it.
Pirik’s key will be sitting on top of the counter, get that and open the door that leads to his HQ on the same floor.
Once you get back to the surface, your party will get ambushed by Pirik himself, use your arrows to remove his helmet along with the rest of his head once you get it off.
You can get the Railgun Component from his corpse afterward and open the door nearby to release the last of the prisoners in the area.
Once you finish the quest, it will be revealed that Lan and the other prisoners went with Pirik of their own accord. Now you can return to Fleet’s end to report back to Otosu and upgrade your Specter Gauntlet!
