When you start the game, you are going to be left homeless and literally stuck inside a very cold and harsh world that is meant to kill you. One of the best solutions on how you can survive the difficult of Sons of the Forest is building yourself a safe haven known as a house.

In this guide, we will show you a simple instruction list of how to build a house. Let’s get started.

Sons Of The Forest – How To Build A House

Logs

The first thing that you will need to build a house is a lot of logs, just like in any other game of this kind. So that means that you need to find yourself a lot of trees, which are easy to locate in this game, and then proceed to chop them away with your axe.

Chop down the trees by going around them and they will eventually fall down. Then just pick up the tree trunks and bring them over to where you intend on building the house.

We recommend that you build a bigger house, and not start out with a smaller one.

Posts & Base

Now with that out of the way, and you have a lot of logs to work with, you are going to place these logs as sort of a base feature in the ground. Most usually square with all the logs getting next to each other.

When that’s done, just place a lot of logs as pillars or posts, as shown in the picture above.

We recommend that you place them between every log and this is very important because in order to build a roof you will need to have a spot where basically they can connect from.

This is something that you need to go for eventually. So as you can see, they are pillars intended to hold the roof above you.

You can then pick up some more logs and place them in between to form a wall.

Roof

Now you shall start building the roof.

You are going to connect all of the logs to each other by placing them on top of the posts that you’ve done previously. This is basically the same as the foundation logs that you have placed on the ground. Just look for the white arrow and place the logs.

This also means that you will have to put some pillars in the middle of your house because you will have to connect them somehow too for placing the roof over there as well.

This is how you connect them to a middle post. It is very important to have because this is basically how you can build the roof.

Floor

The floor is very simple. You are going to take some logs and chop them in half, although it isn’t necessary to do so all the time. Then just pick up these floorboards and place them on the ground.

Make sure that you have a base first, however, or the square on the ground where you can actually place the boards. Then look for the white arrow and you can put them inside. And just like that, you will have a wooden floor!

Door

You will just need to take a log and chop it in half. Then pick up the board that you have chopped and go toward the opening that you have made in the wall.

Aim around the opening and once you place it here, it will build a door.

That is all that you need to know about how to build a house in Sons of the Forest. We hope that this guide has helped you out in this process. Home sweet home!
