Last week on November 14th the most recent update of the critically acclaimed Harry Potter game, Hogwarts Legacy, landed on the Nintendo Switch. Players have been enjoying playing as a wizard in their favorite world of magic, both in their homes and on the go with an undocked Switch.

Some may have noticed that after a certain point in the story once a specific spell is acquired, players will run out of spell slots. In this article, we’ll briefly explain how to change spells once this happens.

How to Change Spells

After a player learns how to cast Incendio, also known as the Fire-Making spell, they will run out of spell slots.

To customize which spells to use, first, you need to click the right arrow key on the Nintendo Switch controller. This will open up the spell menu as seen in the image below.

In that menu, you can use the controller to hover over the spell you want to change and press the ZR button, after which four options will appear at the bottom right of the screen.

Lastly, choosing one of the options presented will replace that spell with an existing spell in that spell slot. And that’s pretty much it!
