There are two kinds of players: one who stays away from the local fauna and ends up wondering why they’re not progressing, and one who destroys everything the sun would dare to shine a light on. The third kind is the writer being shamelessly afraid of cockroaches.
The point is, you need to strive to be the second player because in Smalland, you’ll be doing a lot of fighting and resource gathering. Smalland – How To Find Herptile Hide
Herptile Hide is a two-package deal, you can get it at the same time along with some bones.
The only problem is the creature that owns these items are alive, and they’re not going to give them to you regardless if you ask nicely, so bring a sword over to make communicating with the Geckos easier!
Finding Geckos is not that difficult, all you have to do is follow the river going south until you hit the beach biome. You’ll find quite a lot of them roaming around the sandy shores along with a few beetles, they’re not that difficult to deal with if you already have decent armor so make sure that you get rid of whatever you’re fighting as fast as possible.
This is to avoid extra creatures piling up on you, once the Gecko is dead it will drop one unit of Herptile Hide and some Bones for your armor.
