Recently Mount & Blade Bannerlord finally had its 1.0 release and with it came not only a wave of changes but a wave of applaud from the fans and a wave of new players as well. The game is simply amazing for both new players coming into the game and old players from the Warband days. The game has a lot of mechanics that you need to keep an eye out for though and some of them can be a bit confusing to do, so in this guide we’ll try to help those who are confused on how to make your own Kingdom.
Mount & Blade Bannerlord: How to Form a Kingdom
Joining one of the many factions in Bannerlord and leading them to victory can be fun, but sometimes you don’t want that. All those bickering with nobles, gaining the favor of your peers and so on can be quite annoying, maybe you just want to go on your own. That’s why you make your own Kingdom, and there’s many ways to do it.
Option #1: Breaking off from a Faction
For this one you can go join a faction, work for them until you get yourself a castle or a town. It also helps that you have a ton of money when doing this but that shouldn’t be a problem at this point in the game hopefully. Once you’re ready to make your own faction, go follow a noble of the faction you’re in.
Now head to the screen Fiefs screen and go and click the Leave Kingdom. This will damage your relationship with this kingdom but hey, you get independence! Select “Keep all Holdings” and once you do this you’ll be at war with the entire faction.
That’s why we were following one of the nobles of the faction carrying a bunch of gold, just walk up to them and ask for peace. Pay them gold and you now have your own Kingdom and are at peace!
Option 2: Make a Kingdom by Force!
This one can be a bit tricky and not suggested for newer players, for Veterans this can be a great challenge. Without joining a faction you can create your own Kingdom by declaring war on an existing one.
How can you declare war on a faction without another one backing you up? Simple, just attack them. Raid a village or attack their villagers and they’ll declare war on you without a second thought. This is the perfect time to tell you that it is highly suggested that you have a beefed up army and a lot of gold on hand before you do this.
Once you’re at war, just take a castle or town by force! Once you’ve taken a town or castle then you can make your own Kingdom!
