The Call of Duty series is back with the latest installment in the franchise, Modern Warfare 3. This is a remaster of the original Call of Duty game and allows players to step into the shoes of Task Force 141 once again.
Although the game has not been released, players can try it out in the Multiplayer Beta. This guide will focus on how exactly you can get the Beta with all the important information regarding its length and release time.
Modern Warfare 3 Beta
Beta Timings
To start off, the beta will be divided across two weeks to allow players to experience the game to its fullest.
The first week of the beta will be exclusive to PlayStation players only. This will be held from October 6 to October 10.
This will also be divided into two further timeslots, depending on whether you preordered the game.
Those who have preordered the game will be able to play it in early access from October 6th to 7th. This will be followed by the open beta, which will be open to all PlayStation players.
The second phase of the beta is for all platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. This will take place from October 12th to October 16th and will be divided into two stages. All the dates are shown in the image above.
Call of Duty HQ
Starting with this game, Activision has officially created a hub for all Call of Duty games. This is known as the Call of Duty HQ, and you will need it in order to play all future releases. You will also need it in order to play the beta, so make sure that you download it.
To put it into simple words, the Modern Warfare 3 Beta will just be an add-on pack for the Call of Duty HQ.
Additionally Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 have already been updated into HQ to streamline the process.
All you will have to do in such a case is simply download the beta, which is around 25 GB. This might seem confusing at first due to the add-on pack situation.
However, this means that all Call of Duty games will now be hosted on the HQ platform. The Call of Duty HQ is just a rename of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
Additionally, all the progress from Modern Warfare 2 will be carried over into Modern Warfare 3 and its beta.
Moreover, cross-platform progression has also been added, which is a huge bonus for those of you who play on multiple platforms.
We hope that this guide to the beta of Modern Warfare 3 was helpful to you. Let us know in the comments below if you have any questions or suggestions for future content.
