For the players that had their immersion broken by the fact that Aloy can’t exactly swim underwater, this one’s for all of you.  In Horizon: Forbidden West you can’t just swim underwater, you can also stay there for long periods of time.

That would depend, though, if you have a certain item that can help you do it.  Aloy’s just human after all, she’s not born with this ability.  Read on to find out how you can get the Diving Mask.

How to Get Underwater Breathing Diving Mask

The Diving Mask is an item that indefinitely lets you breathe underwater.  It might sound OP, but bear in mind that there are also some fighting to be done underwater.   A battle that makes you race with time just to take a breath on the surface can be annoying in the long run.

So you could definitely see how this Diving Mask can benefit your underwater exploration.  It’s also a good thing to have for someone who wants to explore the deepest bodies of water the game lets you get into.  Horizon: Forbidden West’s insane graphical upgrades guarantees for some nice screenshots that you can use as a wallpaper.

Lucky for you, this item is automatically unlocked during the main quest, specifically in The Sea of Sands.  There would be no way for you to miss it as one of the mission’s main objectives is to craft one.

Simply follow through the quest and you’ll get the prompt to craft the Diving mask and voila!  You can now breathe underwater.
