You will eventually encounter different puzzles in the game that will surely tickle your brain to work and think creatively. One of them is the animal door puzzle. You can easily recognize this puzzle when you see a good-looking door with 10 animal icons formed in an arc.
This puzzle is completed after you solve the door puzzles from different locations. This guide will show you how to solve the 24/14 door puzzle at the Great Hall.
How to Solve the Great Hall 24/14 Door Puzzle

To get to the location of this puzzle, fast-travel to the Floo Flame that you can find inside the Great Hall.
As you arrive, turn right then take a left turn. There, you will see a corridor that will lead you to the door puzzle.

As you can see, the door will have 10 different animals drawn around the door frame. Approach and interact with it to reveal further clues. Once you interact with it, numbers and shapes will appear.
To solve this, you have to find the unknown animal being asked by doing a simple algebra. The number at the center indicates the sum of all the numbers around it.
The animal icons also represent numbers from 0 to 9 from bottom left to bottom right.
That said, here’s the correct solution to this puzzle:

The first equation shows us that the total of the numbers is 24. From the door, we have clues such as the sum which is 24, 7, and a Killer Bacteria which is equal to 9.
Adding them all together gives us a partial sum of 16. To arrive at the sum of 24, you have to add 8.
Looking at the door arc, the animal that stands for 8 is the Spider. Simply walk back a little and look for a circular plate on the left wall with ? on it. Roll this plate until it shows a spider.

For the second equation, the clues that we got are the total sum of 14, 11, and a Sloth which is equal to 0. Adding them together will give a partial sum of 11 which still needs 3 to reach 14.
In front of the previous circular plate, you will see the next plate with ?? written on it. Roll it until you see a Hydra.
Once you’re done, it will then open the door, thus solving the puzzle.
