If you’re anything like me, getting your first sandbike up in Dune Awakening and running felt like a major win, until you took it out for a spin and bam, parts start breaking down from all the sandstorms, bumps, and close calls with giant worms. Trust me, I’ve been there. At first, I thought I’d have to rebuild or replace every broken piece, which felt like a huge hassle. But the good news? Repairing your sandbike (and other vehicles) in the game is way simpler than that. With just a Welding Torch and some Welding Wire, you can fix your ride and get back to cruising the dunes without a sweat.

How to Repair Sandbike & Vehicles

Sandbikes (and other vehicles in the game) are essential once you start exploring the vast desert regions of Arrakis. They’re your fastest, most efficient way to get from point A to “Oh no, that’s a worm!” But as you ride around and dodge sandstorms and hostiles, your vehicle will start taking damage.

That’s where repair comes in. Unlike in some survival games, you don’t need to rebuild or replace broken parts, you just need a Welding Torch and some Welding Wire, and you’ll be back on the road in no time.

Repairing Sandbikes and Vehicles in Dune: Awakening.

Step 1: Inspect the Damage

Walk up to your sandbike and press F to open the radial menu. From there, select “Manage.” This will show you a detailed breakdown of each vehicle part, including what’s damaged and how badly (expressed in percentages).

Checking this first gives you a good idea of how much Welding Wire you’ll need to craft, and whether something actually needs fixing right now or can wait till after your next desert run.

Step 2: Craft Welding Wire (Repair Ammo)

Now that you’ve assessed the damage, it’s time to grab the materials.

  • Head to your Fabricator
  • Under the Vehicle tab, look for Welding Wire
  • It only costs 2 Scrap Metal to make 100 units, super cheap

If your bike’s just a little scratched up, you won’t need much. But if it’s been through a sandstorm or two, make a decent stack (I usually craft 200 just to be safe).

Step 3: Equip Your Welding Torch

Next up: grab your Welding Torch MK1, it’s the same one you used to build the bike in the first place. Lost it? No problem. You can craft a new one at the Fabricator. Once you have it, place it on your hotbar and head over to the bike.

Step 4: Enter Repair Mode and Patch Things Up

Here’s where the magic happens:

  1. Equip the Welding Torch
  2. Right-click to cycle through modes until you land on Repair Mode
  3. Aim at the damaged part
  4. Hold down the trigger to begin repairing

You’ll see the damage percentage go up, and your Welding Wire get consumed. If the torch says “Out of Ammo,” that means you ran out of wire, not fuel. Just go craft more and come back.

Bonus: Want to Replace a Part Instead?

If you ever want to manually swap a specific part instead of repairing it:

  1. Switch your torch to Detach Mode
  2. Aim and remove the part
  3. Now, go into Assemble Mode to add the new part

Again, this is totally optional. In most cases, just repairing is enough.

How to Store Your Sandbike (So It Doesn’t Die Offline)

One last thing, never leave your vehicle out when you log off.

Sandstorms and time can destroy your bike while you’re sleeping IRL. To avoid that nightmare:

  1. Craft a Vehicle Backup Tool from your Fabricator
  2. Equip it from your inventory
  3. Aim at your sandbike and “store” it
  4. When you come back, use the tool again to redeploy it

Boom. Safe. Simple. Stress-free.

Wrap-Up: Keep Your Ride in One Piece

And that’s a wrap! Repairing your sandbike (or any vehicle) in Dune: Awakening doesn’t have to be a headache. Just remember the simple steps: check your damage, craft enough Welding Wire, grab your Welding Torch, and get to work fixing those parts. Don’t forget to store your bike safely with the Vehicle Backup Tool before logging off, nothing worse than coming back to a destroyed ride after a brutal sandstorm.
