In this guide, I’m going to walk you through how to unlock the back kitchen door in Gestral Village’s Manor and grab some sweet rewards along the way. Trust me, it’s worth the effort (especially for the bonus hairstyle at the end)!
How to Unlock Kitchen Inside Gestral Village Manor Door
First things first, you’ll need to make your way to Gestral Village, which you reach a few hours into the story during your Arena questline. Once you’re in the village:
- Head up the hill and take a right (toward the east side) when you spot the Chief’s House.
- Keep going along the path, you’ll pass some colorful Gestral villagers (pink and green outfits).
- Eventually, you’ll see a sign that says, “Turn Back.” (Spoiler alert: Don’t turn back. Just keep marching forward.)
At the top of the small hill, you’ll find a door with a Gestral standing nearby. No worries, he’s friendly and won’t stop you. Head inside to find the Kitchen area.
How to Unlock the Manor Door in the Kitchen Area
Once you’re inside the kitchen, you’ll quickly notice it’s more than just a room, it’s actually connected to The Manor itself. But the door leading further inside is, of course, locked.
To open it, you’ll need to find and activate three hidden switches around the room. Here’s where to look:
- First Switch: Candle Holders — As you step into the kitchen, glance around the nearby tables. You’ll spot some candle holders, not super obvious, but they’re there. Interact with them to trigger the first mechanism.
- Second Switch: Faceless Bust — Next, turn your attention to the opposite wall. You’ll find a bust (a statue of a head) that looks a bit… off. (No face? That’s your clue.) Interact with the bust to unlock the second mechanism.
- Third Switch: Middle Cooking Pan — Now, check the wall with the three hanging cooking pans. Interact with the middle pan, it flips upside down and triggers the final mechanism.
Opening the Door & Discovering the Secret Floor Entrance
With all three switches activated:
- Head back to the main door you entered through.
- Instead of leading outside like before, it now opens up directly into The Manor!
But wait, we’re not done yet! Before moving too far ahead, head back inside the kitchen. Just to the left of the main door, you’ll now spot a new secret entrance in the floor, it opened when you completed the puzzle. Jump down into the secret passage. Then, move forward and you’ll find a broken wall. Go through it, there’s more treasure waiting.
Rewards You’ll Find in the Secret Room
Once you’re in the secret area:
- To your right in the corner, you’ll see some stairs. Head there to grab a Shape of Energy (an item that can upgrade your Energy Tint, super useful!).
- Then, turn around and look at the opposite wall.
- Shoot or smash the boxes blocking a small opening.
- Crawl through and destroy more boxes on the right side.
- Hidden there is a new hairstyle for Maelle, a fun cosmetic reward for your characters!
In the last room, there’s a painting, and if I had to guess, it’s probably a portrait of the dev team. It feels like a fun little easter egg they snuck in for anyone curious enough to find it. Honestly, I love when games add little touches like this.
