Proper gamers always follow some sort of moral code that can be easily bent and thrown out the window once it has fulfilled its purpose, which is to finish at least one vanilla run before doing everything again either with mods or cheats. You’ve risen above the challenge already and shouldn’t hold back anymore when it comes to enjoying the game in different ways while keeping things fresh.
In this guide, we’ll ride along with you as you take the easy way out and cheat your way through Sons Of The Forest. Let’s see where your creativity can truly take you!
Cheats Guide | How To Use CHEATS in Sons of the Forest
If you ever want to fool around in the game then utilizing cheats is your bread and butter. Sure playing in Creative mode and pretending to go on a camping trip is nice but there are still some limitations that you want to get rid of in order to help ease the grind.
Here’s how you can get started!
Since the game is still in early access there is no way to directly mess with the settings on the fly. The next best thing that allows you to enjoy the experience just as much as by downloading Thunderstore Mod Manager.
Don’t worry, it’s completely safe, even people from Nexus Mods use it so if that isn’t a seal of approval then I don’t know what is!
Once it’s installed it will automatically open and wait for your input, type in “Sons Of The Forest” and hover over it to choose“Select Game”.
Navigate to the “Get mods” tab and install “BepInExPack” first, then “DebugConsole” second.
When you hit “Download” the mods of your choice will automatically install, all that’s left to do is to click on “Modded” to run a modified version of the game.
Now that the game is open, gently tap the F1 key to bring up the console. You can do something as simple as increasing your movement speed or instantly spawning in a structure to eliminate the need of gathering resources!
If you’re above cheating but still curious enough to give something nearly similar a try without feeling too dirty, then the next best thing you can try is exploiting features that are already within the game itself.
Knowing the devs, these issues won’t be patched until they start working on another sequel!
