Shotguns are (personally) the best weapons in any shooting game. Shotguns deal heavy damage when at close range, sometimes killing enemies in one shot. It’s one of the many reasons why I love shotguns in video games, especially in games where a shotgun blast will blow enemies away and send them flying.
In Sons of the Forest, you can get yourself a shotgun to blow enemies away from you and protect yourself. You can even find different kinds of ammo for it, like the Slug ammo.

Sons Of The Forest – How to Use Shotgun Slug Ammo
When you get yourself a shotgun, you will only have one type of ammo in it. But you will soon find out that there are more types of ammo for the shotgun, like the Slugs.
If you have more than one type of ammo for the shotgun and want to switch to the Slug or something else, then all you have to do is look down and press R until you reach Slugs. Or check out our guide!
After you have Slugs selected, look up to reload your gun. Changing ammo on the shotgun will force you to reload your bullets, so don’t change ammo mid-fight (unless you have no ammo left).
