The early access release of Lightyear Frontier is finally here, and players can now test out this work in progress open world farming game set in an alien planet. With that in mind, you’ll need to figure out where the ideal spot is to start out in. Here, we’ll be showing you how to find the best location for your base!

Best Base Location Guide

Although as a new player, you’re free to set up wherever you want, sooner or later you’re going to need to have access to many other parts of the map.

Luckily, the game does not have a randomly generated world. Because of this, it can be pretty easy to figure out where the best spot for your base will be.

Basically, you want to be in a central location, so that you can easily walk over to any other points of interest that you will need to visit throughout the course of your in-game career.

Basically, you want to set up somewhere within The Meadows, as it is situated almost at the very center of the map. In addition to letting you easily walk to other regions, you will also have convenient access to water, which is an essential resource to have.

Pretty much anywhere in The Meadows is a great spot for your base. This will put you within walking distance to all sorts of valuable resources, such as copper and aluminum.

Of course, this doesn’t mean you should be dead set on building here. If you don’t mind walking around too much or prefer a different view for aesthetic reasons, you can freely skip The Meadows.

Ideally, though, you should be building close to a water source. That should be pretty obvious, however, considering the game revolves quite a lot around farming.

And those are pretty much all of the tips we can give you when it comes to building your starting base in the game. If you already finished setting up elsewhere and don’t know how to move, go and check out our guide on how to move or remove structures in Lightyear Frontier!
