If you can’t get enough of farming games, try taking it to another planet where you can team up with friends and farm alien crops in Lightyear Frontier. The adventure doesn’t end there. You can team up to 3 friends, explore the wilderness and build your very own cozy homestead. In this article, I will tell you how to acquire the Red Lens so stick around and keep reading!
How To Get Red Lens
For the Red Lens, you’ll need to find a specific crystal to turn it into a lens. The Red crystal will do just that. Let’s look at how to find them and craft your Red Lens.
- Build a grinder and a furnace;
- Head to Pine Heights;
- Acquire Rabbage seeds and a Red crystal to craft the Red Lens;
- Craft some Rabbage oil;
- Use your equipment to create the red lens.
Here, I will get into further details on how to achieve each of these steps.
Let’s start with building a Grinder and a Furnace
The first thing you need to build your red lens is getting a grinder. This grinder is an important piece of equipment because it will assist us in turning the raw materials into a freshly made Lens, which is just what we need in this guide.
The first resource to build the grinder is some Copper. You can find some copper in Edge Cliffs, specifically somewhere around the circled area in the image given.
Now that we have copper, we’ll need to craft some Copper Wire out of it. Take your copper to the assembler. You’ll see a bunch of highlighted and dimmed parts, indicating which ones you’ve collected already, and which ones are yet to be found/crafted.
Scroll down and you’ll see copper wire. The next window will show some equipment that can be created with copper wire. Once you create the copper wire, you’ll unlock the ability to construct a grinder. So go ahead and do that.
You can place it in a spot that suits you best and looks cool enough for you since you are creating a comfortable workspace for your crafting and farming.
Once you’ve unlocked the grinder, head over to it and interact with your new equipment. You’ll see some recipes for red crystal dust, blue crystal dust, stone dust and some noxious spore.
Go ahead and press Red Crystal Dust and on another window, you’ll see what can be created with this crystal dust. The name is pretty self-explanatory but we learn here that the recipe for red crystal dust needs a single crystal.
It gets a little complicated but don’t worry. I’ll walk you through it. The red crystal dust is not the only relevant resource on the list. We also need some stone dust. You need the stone dust to create a furnace.
Go to the assembler and make some clay with the stone dust. The clay will be used to create the furnace along with some wood you can get from the forest.
To put it simply, this is how the process goes:
Red Crystals (from Pine Heights) —> Red Crystal Dust (through the grinder) —>Red Glass (through the furnace) —> Red Lens (through the assembler)
Luckily for you, to create the stone dust, all you need is a single stone. If you’ve just started playing this game, you’ll notice that stones are in great abundance and can be found literally anywhere on the map.
Now that we have all required equipment in check and ready, it’s time to leave your workspace and head out into an adventure in Pine Heights to collect some red crystals.
Travel to Pine Heights.
Notice from the image above, pine heights are at the north of the map, which you can enter by heading north west from the Meadow. This place can be identified with its abundance of pine trees in the area.
Head to the inner depths of the forest and you’ll find lots of blood red crystals. Equip your Spike Saw and start mining the crystal. It only takes a couple of hits to acquire the crystal and for it to go to your inventory.
Look around the forest and you’ll also find some Rabbage seeds within the biome. Harvest the Rabbages in the area with your Vacuum Harvester and you will get some Rabbage Seeds.
In order to get the vegetable, this requires you to plant the seeds in your garden bed back at the Homestead. Once you plant the seeds, it takes about three days for the plant to fully grow and that’s when they are ready to harvest using your spike saw.
Take the Rabbages to the Oil Presser. You’ll need 3 Rabbage oils in order to create your Red Lens. Add your rabbages to the queue so they can all be pressed in the oil presser. Once you’ve collected enough it’s to move on to the next and final steps!
Let’s Get Crafting
After you’ve made your furnace, go up to it and start crafting some red glass.
Finally to wrap it up, head over to your assembler and you’ll see the red lens available and ready to get crafted if you have all your necessary resources like a single Red Glass and 3 Rabbage Oils. Click on it to craft and you’ve just acquired a Red Lens!
