Limbus Company – Combat Guide

There’s a new Gacha game out there and it’s Limbus Company, from the developers of Lobotomy Corporation comes a new game with a bit more complex system than the other Gacha games out there.

Limbus Company lets you play 12 characters with different identities that have their own different skills and abilities.

The game also has a combat system that is a bit complicated, so in this guide, we’ll show you the basics of Combat in the game because you’re going to do a lot of it as you play through!

Combat Guide For Limbus Company

As we go through this guide I’ll be explaining the mechanics of the game as simple as possible. That means calling things in the game differently to make things simple, like calling EGOs ultimate abilities or Affinities as pretty colors you collect through to use EGOs and whatnot.

So let’s see how combat works in the game.

Battle Start

When you start a battle you’ll see numbers at the top of the characters. That’s their speed, and the lower they are the closer they are to the enemy and the more likely they get attacked.

Below the characters is their health bar which is the red number and the bar that goes around their feet. You’ve probably played other games so you know how HP works.

The orb next to the health bar is their Sanity. You lose sanity from having your units get destroyed while you gain it by defeating enemies. Having red sanity is bad since it makes your units less effective.

Attack Skills

Now we go to attacking.

At the bottom middle of the screen is the skills of your units, you attack by chaining them from left to right. You can go up or down to choose which attack goes through in a column and you end the chain at the start of the attack to the rightmost gear.

Chaining the same colors, even though they’re not consecutive will make the attacks stronger. The more colors you chain the better.

When you select a skill you can sometimes see the one on top of the screen where it shows that the enemy is going to attack the character as well. Basically the bigger the numbers are the better the chance you get to attack instead of them.

Resource Management

To the right of your screen is the Affinities, when you select a skill that has the same color it’ll increase the numbers here if they get to use the skill. The game has fancy names for it but just call it by their colors to make it simple.

EGO – Ultimate Abilities

When you left-click and hold a character icon it’ll show the different EGOs they have. These are their ultimate abilities and they cost affinities (the colored icons to the right) to activate.

Combat often boils down to selecting the right skills to get the colors to activate the EGO.

Defense Skills

When you click on a character you can switch the skills to defensive ones.

There are 3 types:

Guard – Guard makes it so you take less damage since the skill absorbs damage depending on the power.

Evade – Evade makes it so you take no damage as long as you roll higher than the enemy.

Counter – The counter is the last defense skill and it makes it so that when you get attacked you attack back, this might sound bad but it’s the only defensive skill that adds affinity like a normal skill, and you can use it any time as long as it’s available!

Congratulations you now know the basics of combat in Limbus Company. There are more complex mechanics in the game but these basics can help you take your first steps into this complex game!
