How To Get The Ice Beam | Ice Beam Location | Metroid Prime Remastered

The Ice Beam is known for being able to dispatch large swarms of flying enemies that tend to ruin your day. Your missile can only do so much on its own, besides it’s more satisfying to see your enemies get shattered to pieces.

Another reason would be to be able color-code doors, so here’s where you can find the upgrade early on.

At this point, you would’ve already beaten the Flaahgra, or you did the old IBBF trick.

If not then you progressed enough to unlock the Antechamber. If you’re in the Energy Core back at Chozo Ruins then you should be able to unlock the faraway door with the Morph Ball Bomb.

Hang left to the Morph Ball Tunnel and look for the Stone Toad, let the toad swallow you to blow it up, and promptly access the electrical unit.

That will drain the water and allow you to activate the two other electrical units.

The next room will have a Chozo Statue in it along with some Ghosts, run around while shooting them with your Charge Beam and the statue will later launch you across the room once the coast is clear.

Eventually, you will end up in the Reflecting Pool and the Antechamber next.

Get rid of the Stone Toads when you’re at the Reflecting Pool using Boost Ball. Do the same for the conduit in the pool and the water will drain after this which will grant you access to the second level where the Antechamber and Ice Beam are waiting.

And there you go!

A little bit of backtracking never hurt anybody, now go out there and get the ice beam for yourself. You might have missed something else as Chozo Ruins is quite sizeable.

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
