Mount & Blade II: Ultimate Caravan Guide Patch 1.1.4 | Bannerlord

Change is good, and these are very good changes.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is a strategy action RPG that takes place in a medieval setting. As such, you will be doing things that people have done back then. Fighting in wars with swords and shields, serve kings and queens, but not sacrifice your band of mercenaries (Berserk reference). One of those things we can do is the Caravan gameplay feature, which is when you send a small group of traders to travel from town to town to make profit. In this guide, I will show you how you can make the best out of the Caravan in patch 1.1.4.

Ultimate Caravan Guide Patch 1.1.4

In the past updates, the caravan was seen as a gamble due to how unstable the economy was in game versions prior to 1.1.4. Caravans were not a good way to earn money, and you can sometimes lose more than gain any. However, that changes with the latest patch. The economy is now stable in patch 1.1.4, and you can actually earn more money as the game progresses.

Time Progression

Right now, if you send out a caravan without any leaders or units with good leadership, you can actually get some pretty great results. By day 100, you can earn 214 gold, by day 200, there will be an increase to 267, by day 500, you can earn 316 daily, Day 750 gets you 396, and day 1000 gives you 466 per day. From the data, you can see that the longer the game goes on, you can earn more money.

Skills

There are also some changes that have been made with skills that can affect the amount of gold you can make. Skills like Riding, Scouting, and Trade are very important to how much gold you can make. If you send out a caravan with no skills, you can expect to get 267 gold by day 200. Not bad, but what if you have some skills?

If you have 100 Riding, you can earn up to 273 gold, which is a slight increase from no skills. If you have 100 Scouting, you will only get 269, which is an even smaller increase compared to Riding. But if you focus on Trade? You can get some pretty great results. 100 Trade can get you 340 gold, 200 Trade can get you 359 gold, and 300 Trade gets you the most with 371 gold.

Now it’s very obvious that Trade seems to be the one skill you should focus on if you want to have a successful caravan, but make sure not to spend all of it on Trade. Riding and Scouting are very good skills to have as well.

Survivability

Now, caravans are very likely to be attacked by raiders or bandits that are looking to make quick money by stealing it from people that have already done the work. Your caravans are not immune from attacks, and there will be a time when they might get attacked. However, there is a noticeable change from the previous patches to patch 1.1.4.

First off, caravan survivability is at an all time high. The average time a caravan can survive is 2 in-game years, but some players have managed to survive for a bit longer. If you send out a caravan, they will have a 95% chance of survival by day 1000. The percentage never goes below 90%, and the lowest being 94% at day 500 and 750.

Lastly, wars are not good for cavarans. Compared to the 95-96% chance of surviving from no war at Day 200, having a war will lower your cavarans’ chances of surviving to 52% at Day 200.

However, this is all pure RNG, and we all know that RNG can be either a blessing or a curse. While the survivability is high, RNG can turn that around and mess up everything for you and your caravan.
