MultiVersus: Best Way To Improve Your Skills Guide

With these tips, you will master the game in no time!

MultiVersus: Best Way To Improve Your Skills Guide

After waiting for a long time, we are finally able to play MultiVersus. It just got its official release and is available for free. You can find the game on Steam for PC. If you are a console player, then it is also available on  PS4 & PS5 and Xbox One & Series X | S.

With games like these, there’s always a learning curve. It has a lot of different mechanics and this can be a bit overwhelming for new players. But all of us still want to get better at the game and hopefully master it. I will be sharing tips in this guide which will improve your skills in the game.

Guide on Best Ways To Improve Your Skills

To get a better understanding of the characters, you should check out our guide which has tier lists for both 1v1 and 2v2 characters. It will pull you up to speed and give you an idea on where each character stands. You can find it here: MultiVersus: Best Character Tier List.

Now, getting better in the game obviously takes time and not to mention, you have to actually play it for a long time. But this does not mean there aren’t any ways to shorten the path to mastering the game. Below are a couple of tips which should help improve your skills.

Tip #1 – Custom Keybinds

Custom Controls

The game allows you to change your keybinds and I highly suggest you take advantage of this by changing them to something that you are more comfortable with. This will make the game feel much easier to control which in turn will have a drastic improvement in your gameplay.

Other than the controls, there are also interface customizations available which you should check out too.

Tip #2 – Selecting a Main

If you really want to get good at the game, then you should select one or two characters as your main characters. This means you will be spending most of your time playing as them. This way, you will be able to get familiar with their moveset and master them quickly.

Tip #3 – Mastering Combos

After you have selected a main character and have played as them for a while. You should be familiar with their moveset at this point. Now you need to learn and master some combos for your main.

You do not have to go for a combo that is super crazy or hard but something that can deal a decent amount of damage and is quick enough to execute. The combos you learn can be simple but you should be able to execute them with your eyes closed.

This will obviously require some practice but you should be able to conquer it pretty easily if you play consistently with your main character. Training Mode is also pretty handy for mastering your combos.

Side Note: Speaking of combos, Joker is a very good character with some pretty slick combos. To learn more about his combos, check out this convenient guide: MultiVersus: Complete Joker Combo Guide.

Tip #4 – Playing as Other Characters

Try out all the characters. Now this may seem contradicting to Tip #2 but hear me out. You do not have to play as other characters all the time or master them but play as them from time to time.

Your main goal with this is to learn about their weaknesses and how their moveset works. This will give you an advantage when you are facing them in a match. You will be able to exploit their weaknesses and defend against their stronger moves.

Tip #5 – Watching Professional Players

The last tip I have for you is to watch other good players (such as from tournaments) who use the same main character as you. This will allow you to learn some of the best techniques possible with your main character.

At first you may find these high level matches confusing as a lot is going on but in due time you will be able to learn a lot from them.

And this completes this guide, I hope it helped you out! I should mention that getting good in a game like this doesn’t happen overnight. But if you keep up the effort, you will be a master in no time!
