- Defeat Bosses in the new Rift Mode to get points (1 Point per new Boss)
- Progress through the Agent Smith Event Menu
- Unlock Agent Smith for free at Tier 20 (20 Points)
- Unlock Exclusive Agent Smith Variant at Tier 30.
Agent Smith Event Explained
Starting off, there’s a new Event menu for Agent Smith that you can access when you log into Multiversus. When you open this menu, you’ll see that you can actually unlock Agent Smith for free. There are also other details on the event.
Here is a breakdown of all the information you need to be aware of for the Agent Smith event in MultiVersus:
- The event is available only between May 27 – July 30.
- You can unlock Agent Smith free two weeks early
- You can unlock an exclusive Agent Smith variant that will most likely not be available later
- Earn up to 3000 Fighter Currency
- Earn points for defeating bosses in the new Rift Mode.

How To Unlock Agent Smith
To unlock Agent Smith, you will need to defeat bosses in the new Rift Mode. The new Rift Mode is a PvE game mode that is the campaign equivalent for Multiversus.
Defeating bosses is not an easy task as bosses will only appear at the end of each Rift. So, you’ll need to go through all the numerous challenges in the Rift until you come across a boss.
You’ll know it’s a boss fight when the Boss Fight title appears before the start of the fight. Defeating this boss for the first time will give you one point in the Agent Smith Event menu.
You cannot repeat Boss battles for points. This means you will need to go through each Rift, reach the boss and then get points again. So, this mode is quite grindy and will take a bit of time to get through.
We suggest you go through the easier Rifts first before move onto the harder ones. It’ll make it much easier to accumulate points.
As you gain points, you will progress through different Tiers in the menu. You’ll unlock a variety of rewards which includes Fighter Currency and Profile Icons, depending on the progression tile you’re on.
Once you reach Tier 20, you will be able to unlock Agent Smith for free. This means you will need to defeat 20 unique Bosses in the Rift Mode to get 20 Points. So, you’ll need to go through a lot of Rifts which is a very grindy process.
Luckily, you have two weeks so make sure you spend as much time as possible to get through the boss battles. Once you reach Tier 20, you’ll have Agent Smith in Multiversus. How To Unlock Exclusive Agent Smith Variant
As part of the Agent Smith Event in MultiVersus, there is an exclusive Variant for him that you can get for free too. This deserves a shout out because it is very likely you will not be able to get this later on.
You can unlock this exclusive Variant by reaching Tier 30 of the event progression menu. This means you’ll need to defeat a total of 30 Bosses in the Rift Mode to get 30 points. 30 Bosses is quite a lot but with some discipline, it should be manageable in two weeks. Soon enough, you’ll have Agent Smith and his exclusive variant for free!
