We all love Tom & Jerry, people who’ve grown up with this cartoon know them and their episodes probably by heart. They also probably have weird memories like how a lot of people thought that the Mr. Bean show had hundreds of episodes when it actually only had 15. Don’t worry about Tom and Jerry though, they had around 150+ episodes. In this guide, we’ll show you how to play Tom & Jerry.
Beginners Guide To Tom & Jerry | How To Play Ton & Jerry in MultiVersus
Tom and Jerry are a duo, so how does it translate to a game where they’re counted as one character? Well playing Tom and Jerry against your opponent is much of a fight with yourself and the enemy. This is because the duo is very unique in terms of gameplay.
So, you start with Tom and Jerry together. But as you play there are times where they actually split to do specific things. For now, a word of warning for a certain move: the Duo’s up attack that can be charged into a repeating up attack DOES NOT ring out enemies. Even if the enemy is at 150+ damage the up attack does not knock them out. So, keep that in mind.
Let’s start with the Neutral Attack which is where he brings out the racket to try and hit Jerry. This is going to be a theme with his attacks. Damaging your enemy is actually the collateral to the two fighting which is always fun.
This racket attack is actually very versatile since it can hit tennis balls which we’ll do later, and even other projectiles from other players if you time it right!
Now for the fun part, the Neutral special both air in the ground, will make Tom fling Jerry to wherever you’re aiming, making the duo separate!
If you press special again it’ll fling a tennis ball at Jerry, he’ll automatically swing a racket and send it back to you. You can play tennis with the enemy in the middle!
Be wary though, the enemy can kill Jerry or if you accidentally launch him off the ring he’ll die and you have to wait for him to come back.
Another neat move is that when Tom attacks, Jerry will shoot corks at the enemy, a great way to harass enemies in range. What’s fun is that in a 2v2 your partner can actually pick up Jerry and he can shoot Corks from your teammate!
Just remember that both corks and tennis balls are limited and have to recharge!
If you need Jerry back then you can just walk up and get him.
The duo’s up special makes Tom tie Jerry up into a missile and fire it, you can control this missile and send it to your enemy, dropping Jerry where it explodes.
When Jerry is already on the field, you can use up special again to kick a rocket that’ll automatically guide to Jerry’s position, potentially hitting your enemy!
As for the side special, Tom wraps Jerry into a fishing rod and hooks him into the enemy. This needs some fine aiming since hitting the enemy with the line won’t do anything. Jerry needs to hit the enemy to actually do damage.
You can actually pick up Jerry with the fishing rod as well!
For the down special the duo places a mouse trap, which is quite simple in terms of mechanics. The enemy steps on it and they take damage.
For the aerial down special the duo drops a stick of dynamite. Despite being an explosive, it has to actually hit the enemy and isn’t really that powerful. You CAN hit it with your racket though and it will do more damage that way.
So, the duo is actually a lot of fun to play, with many moves that intertwine with each other and can even be great for playing with a partner. Now go out there and play this amazing and wacky duo!
