This requires you to have an understanding of the battleground’s environment, characters’ abilities to react, parry and outsmart your opponent. With a number of characters to choose from, there is always something for you to learn about these characters. In this guide, we’ll show you some beginner basics for Tarka Ji, with information regarding abilities and combos.
Tarka Ji Guide for Complete Beginners
Abilities Overview
Your first ability is Flame Force, with three versions of it that you can go for. We recommend that you use the first version and the third version of the ability. This is because the second ability requires a lot of charging and stacking before it can actually become useful.
Flame Force will allow you to block any hit damage in a defensive form. Upon successfully blocking an attack, you can press M1 to counterattack and apply a Burn debuff to your opponent. Burn will deal a small damage over time to your opponent.
Flame Force: Fireball is a long-range tool you can use to fire at your opponent, dealing a large amount of damage, making your enemies Burn and apply a Vulnerable Debuff. When your opponent is vulnerable, your attacks on them will deal more damage.
Keep it in mind that when your opponent is in a blue focus, your stagger effect from Fireball will not apply. This means that you will waste your ability on your opponent and they can react accordingly to fight against you. So try to avoid using the ability when you see their blue focus.
Your Ultimate – Fire Frenzy – also has 3 versions that you can go for. Just like the Flame Force Ability, you’ll want to go for the first version and the third version. Overall, the second ability isn’t as good since it is not flexible in many of the situations and you will run out of rage quite easily from spamming Flame Force.
The first version of Fire Frenzy will greatly increase your movement speed and stamina regeneration. This ability will also increase stamina recover of teammates. The ability is the best for 1v1 modes since stamina is an important factor that determines whether you win a fight or not. You will be able to do more combos, more dodges as well as become more mobile in these short duel fights.
The third version of Fire Frenzy is Extend. Just like its name, your duration will be extended. During the ability, you’ll gain an increase in movement speed and attack. When attacking enemies, you will be able to restore Rage, extending the duration of the ability even further. You will also increase attack of allies. This makes it better for team modes like Trios where fights happen consistently, making your rage ability last forever.
Combos
After you have successfully countered an attack, you can go for a blue focus attack to deal some extra damage to your opponent. This is because Flame Force’s parry will stagger your opponent long enough for you to charge up your blue focus without being dodged or interrupted.
When you have your ultimate up, you can go for the infinite combo. With the stamina regeneration effect given by your first ultimate, you’ll be able to do this. In order to do it, you will want to launch your opponent upwards and use uppercut over and over. You do not want to miss and want you land your slashes constantly to keep your opponent in the air.
You can launch your opponent into the air after you block an attack with Flame Force, or you can use a fire punch to stagger them. Then, you can use a horizontal attack to launch them into the air and you’ll be able to do the Jump + Uppercut combo over and over.
Overall, the Tarka Ji character is a fun class for you to try. He has the ability to manifest fire and use it as an advantage. He’s also a decent duelist you can use to parry attacks and counterattack your opponents when they least expect it.
Your ultimate will give you a lot of mobility as well as useful effects you can use. Depending on your situation, go for the first version for 1v1s or the third version for team modes. Lastly, keep practicing as you learn the character, and you’ll become one of the best duelists out there!
