Overwatch 2 had a mixed reception when it came out, Blizzard changed some aspects of the gameplay that made it better than the first game, but the overall content was lacking.
We all know that joke of the game being a big update instead of a new game, and the different controversies that plagued the game like the bad heroes, and even worse, monetization didn’t help.
Still, the game still has a sizable audience that plays it and for those who do they’ll be adding big changes to monetization in the upcoming new season, in this guide we’ll show you what those changes are.
Blizzard Makes Changes to Monetization | Overwatch 2
The first Overwatch games used to have an in-game currency that you can gain through playing the game. This in-game currency was used to buy loot boxes in the game as well as different skins, emotes, and accessories.
The sequel did away with that and the player base was not happy about it, to say the least. Those who did have currency still kept them as Legacy Coins, but they were ultimately useless with only a few things to use them on.
In the next season, they plan on giving every player the ability to finally get Legacy Coins through the season pass. Not only that but they’re also adding a bunch of cosmetics you can get through the Legacy Coins.
With the coins, you’ll be able to buy nearly all Epic and Legendary tier skins, which include skins from seasonal events as well!
The Legendary skins price is also lowered to 1500 coins, which is also the maximum you can get through the season pass!
Congratulations you now know what the monetization changes that will be in the new season of Overwatch 2! Now, all we need to do is wait for the new season!
