How to Find & Catch Dr. Brawn
The encounter with Dr. Brawn is based on chance so you’ll have to scout an area for a while. There are five specific spots with a confirmed chance of eventually spawning Dr. Brawn. All of these points are near the fort ruins checkpoint.
Let’s look at how you can find and catch Dr. Brawn effectively.
Finding Dr. Brawn
There are multiple more spawn spots where Dr. Brawn may potentially show up but it might drive you a little insane visiting every single one of them. The best method is to circle the five spots shown on the map above.
At these spots, you would typically find large nests of NPCs. The route marked on the map has a bunch of incidents spawning like the Direhowl eating Flopie one.
With all these incidents, you might also get a chance to find Dr. Brawn’s spawn. The best way to circle this route is to have a flying mount like Jetragon or have another pal with speed-boosting Passive Skills. At times, you can even leave the area and return to the same location to spawn a new set of NPCs.
Catching Dr. Brawn
After all the circling, you’d eventually encounter Dr. Brawn. Once you do find him, you’ll want to equip what’s called a Ring of Mercy to prevent the NPC’s health from going below 1 HP. This will give you a chance to catch it without eliminating your target.
From here, the battle begins. Dr. Brawn may make several attempts to run away but once he’s low, that’s when you preferably use the exotic sphere to catch and contain him.
Despite his low health and your good sphere quality, he might still break out of the ball and try very hard to escape due to the low catch chance. For this reason, you’ll need several spheres on hand to keep using until he no longer breaks free.
At one point, he’ll give up, and you will successfully have caught Dr. Brawn!
Dr. Brawn’s Surgery Process
Dr. Brawn is a progressive but questionable surgeon in the Palworld universe. After catching him, you can talk to him and perform a sketchy surgery. During the surgery, there is a chance to either get some passive rework or a negative one.
The changes are completely random. Here is a list of the types of positive and negative reworks that he performs:
- Positive: Gives a Pal a positive passive skill while eliminating a negative one, or increases your own stats by 15 or 30
- Negative: Gives a Pal a negative passive skill while eliminating a positive one, or decreases your own stats by 15 or 30
Surgeries can only be performed once a day so choose the rework you’d like done accordingly. You can also change the length of both days and nights in the settings menu to use his service once again. And of course, be aware of the huge risks!
