Payday 3 players have been busy exploring everything that the heists and missions have to offer. After all, every heist is full of opportunities for players to get some truly unique loot. Ramping up the difficulties also helps generate even better rewards.

In this guide, we will look at how you can get the difficult True Connoisseur Achievement in Payday 3. This is an achievement that consists of a lot of secrets that many players have been trying to discover. We will show you exactly what steps you need to follow.

How to Get the True Connoisseur Achievement

The True Connoisseur Achievement is by no means an easy feat. It requires you to have a lot of map knowledge and good coordination with a group of friends.

There are also a number of steps that need to be followed to ensure that you can get the Achievement. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Start the Under the Surphaze heist on Very Hard or Overkill. Make sure you bring a crew of at least 3 people, as this is a requirement.
  2. Enter the building, and lower the Security bars on the upper and lower floors. These can be accessed through panels.
  3. Go to the Manager’s Office and look at what the three miniature statues on the table are.
  4. Locate these statues in the galleries on the map. Cut open or lockpick the cases so you can access the statues but do not interact with them yet.
  5. Have one person on each of the three statues, ready to pick them up. Pick the statue up at the same time.
  6. Return to the Manager’s Office and locate the small red button hidden next to the paintings on the walls.
  7. Have one teammate stand in front of the painting and another press the red button. Let the teammate grab the painting.
  8. Navigate the invisible lasers that appear after pressing the red button or just flee.

Detailed Walkthrough

To get this achievement, you will need to run the Under the Surphaze heist mission. Additionally, this achievement can only be obtained on the Very Hard or Overkill difficulty. Therefore, you will need to be confident in your abilities and have a good understanding of this map layout.

Before starting, you also need to have a crew with at least 3 people. Without 3 people, getting this achievement is impossible as there is a part in this mission where 3 people will need to work alongside each other.

Getting the painting is not possible at the start and you will need to go through a series of steps to get it.

You can certainly walk up to it, but it won’t be accessible yet. Additionally, it is recommended that you remain in stealth until you have the painting. After that, you can go guns blazing if you want.

You will need to start by entering the building and lowering the security bars on the display cases. If these security bars are not lowered, you simply cannot access the statues inside.

The statues can be located in the galleries on the map. You will see later on why this step is important.

The security bars can be lowered by accessing panels that are available on each floor.

You will need to lower the security bars on both floors which means going to two separate floors. This is because the statues are present on both floors, and you don’t really know which statues you need.

More than likely, the statues you need will be on both floors. Ideally, you also should scan phones so that you can get QR codes which allow you to access the galleries. This is where the statues are located.

When you access the panels, you will need to walk into the circles that appear to fill up the meter in the top left corner.

Once the meters are full, the security panels will lower. This will be quite difficult in stealth, and you need to make sure that everyone is working together.

We recommend that you have some knowledge of the game beforehand, so you know exactly where each statue is present.

The position of the statues will not change when you repeat missions, but rather which statue you need to interact with. In total, there are 7 statues on both floors.

Once the security bars have been lowered, make your way to the Manager’s Office. This is usually present on the top floor near windows.

After lockpicking the door, enter inside and look at the table. You will see three miniature versions of the statues.

For each mission, the combination of these statues will always be different. But they will always come in three.

You can even find a secret safe in this room. Check out this guide on how to find the ‘Under the Surphaze’ Safe Location.

Now, each of your teammates will go off on their own and locate one of the statues represented on the table.

Essentially, one teammate will be dedicated to one statue after you have located them. Since the security bars are lowered, you can cut or lockpick the cases to access the statues.

However, do not pick up the statues yet. Instead, you will need to be ready and then each teammate will grab the statues at the same time.

This is a very important step, and you need to make sure that you are on the same page when you do this part.

After you’ve removed the statues from the cases, return to the Manager’s office. You will be able to find a red button next to the paintings on the wall. Do not press the button yet. Instead, wait for another one of your teammates to go to the painting.

There is a small, curved fence in front of the painting and ideally you want to hop it and stay in the semicircular area in front of it.

The closer to the painting the better. This is because when you press the red button in the Manager’s office, a whole bunch of lasers will show up in front of the fence.

However, this is the point where you can access the painting. Grab the painting and now, it is up to you whether to remain in stealth or go for action. However, if you want to continue stealth, you will need to navigate the invisible lasers.

Luckily, there is a way to see the lasers. Look for a camera nearby and hack into it. When you see the area through the camera, you will be able to see the camera. Have your friend instruct you as they watch you through the cameras so that you can safely navigate the lasers.

That’s how you get the True Connoisseur Achievement in Payday 3. Remember to make sure that you have good map knowledge by playing the heist beforehand so you can establish a strategy with your friends. You may even fail a few friends, but with patience you will be able to eventually get it!
