Sometimes puzzles in video games are just a hassle to do and can really take you out of the experience. You go around defeating hordes of enemies and then suddenly there’s a puzzle and it breaks the flow of the game for some people. Then there are some puzzles that are just plain hard or nonsensical and those are the most annoying ones.
In Genshin Impact there are a lot of puzzles you can do in the game, some of them are even tied to quests. In this guide, we’ll show you how to do one of the drum puzzles in the new update.
Genshin Impact: Perform According to The Drum Puzzle Guide
At one point in the game, you’ll find yourself to the north of the Asipattravana Swamp in the Hills of Barsom.
There you’ll be tasked with Performing According to the Drum Puzzle. This puzzle is pretty difficult due to the lack of instruction from the game.
When you get there, you can interact with the drums, and it’ll give you a score you’ll need to follow. How to actually play the drum is by hitting it with an attack.
The leaves in the picture show what kind of attack you should do.
I know it’s a bit convoluted so below are all the scores and what you ‘play’ to do the puzzle.
The way you hit the drum is with a normal attack, doing a jump and plunge attack, or by just not hitting the drum at all and just waiting.

- Vijnana Drum Score – Hit – Hit – Hit – Plunge
- Samjna Drum Score – Hit – Plunge – Wait – Plunge
- Rupa Drum Score – Hit Hit Hit Plunge
- Sankhara Drum Score – Hit – Wait – Hit – Plunge
- Vedana Drum Score – Hit – Wait – Hit – Plunge
