Pet Catchers: How to Get Every Mount & Hoverboard

Pet Catchers recently came out, and even now, new players are still pouring in and discovering all of the pets that can be captured in the game at the moment. To help you speed up the grind, you will need to unlock the hoverboard (or any other mount), and in this guide, we will be showing you how to do just that!

How to Get Every Mount & Hoverboard

One of the quickest but also relatively costly ways of getting your first mount is simply by buying the VIP game pass. This gives you a bunch of passive bonuses (such as extra coin gain and pet XP), as well as an exclusive pet and the golden jetpack.

This will set you back 349 Robux, which isn’t actually a lot, but if you are willing to grind for a bit, you should probably avoid buying this. I mean, unless you really want the passives that come with it.

The Basic Hoverboard

The normal Hoverboard that pretty much every player outside of the starting zone will have is acquired through Phony Hawk’s quest line. This is the NPC who hangs out beside the skate park in Mealow Meadows.

This location is right after the starting area, so you really don’t have to spend too much time playing to get it. You basically just have to catch a few pets, including an epic rarity dragon, which there are many of here.

The 8 Ball

One of the very first mounts that you can unlock that will require you to grind is the 8 ball or pool ball. It can come in various colors, which also changes the number accordingly, but the basic version is just a plain black 8 ball.

To get this, you will have to beat the King Slime boss (found in Auburn Woods) on any difficulty setting. The kicker is that it has a drop rate of 1 in 1,200, making it very rare.

If you have been grinding this boss for the past few days, you will likely have better odds due to the increased number of drops that comes with higher levels.

The Comet Board

The Comet Board is acquired in a similar manner as the previous mount. Basically, you will have to defeat the Kraken boss in Sunset Shores until you get one through sheer luck.

Just like the 8 ball, this mount can come in different colors. Unfortunately for grinders, this one will require even more luck, as the drop rate is at 1 in 2,000.

It probably isn’t going to be worth spending respawn tomes for this drop specifically (and maybe even the previous one), though you could if you really really want one of these.

The Ray Mount

As the name implies, this mount is basically just a floating stingray. Since it’s a type of fish, it only feels right that you can get it through fishing.

We hope you have a dedicated fishing luck team and maybe even some potions that can help boost that, because this mount has a whopping 1 in 50,000 drop rate, making it significantly rarer than the previous ones.

It probably isn’t worth popping a bunch of consumable luck bonuses for this mount specifically, but it will definitely be a nice surprise if it ever drops while you are just fishing normally.

The neat part about the Ray is the fact that it not only comes in different colors, but it also leaves a trail of water wherever it goes. This will add a bit of extra flair to your normal movement.

The Bruh Board

The Bruh Board is one of the few mounts in the game that you can get without having to rely solely on luck, at least not directly.

As you would have probably guessed from the name, it can be acquired by completing quests at the Bruh Bounty Board in Frosty Peaks.

Unfortunately, the catch here is that you will need to finish a total of 250 quests. While the rewards are going to be nice, especially the free Prismatic Eggs that you get every now and then, it’s going to take a lot of time to finish this many.

The mount itself looks like a chunky elongated creature that just slides around the ground. It’s not the most visually appealing one of the bunch, but it’s still a nice reward for finishing all those bounties.

The Sailor’s Turtle

While I personally cannot get this myself, the Sailor’s Turtle is something that you can acquire through the repeatable Old Sailor quests in Sunset Shores.

Basically, upon completing the entire quest line ending with you getting the Diamond fishing rod, you unlock a mission board beside the Old Sailor. This is similar to the Bruh Bounty board, but with an emphasis on fishing.

The mount will require you to complete a total of 200 of these repeatable quests. This will take a lot of time, as you will be given various fishing tasks that will have you relying on complete RNG.

The Regular Jetpack

In case you weren’t aware, the golden jetpack from the VIP game pass isn’t the only one of its kind. You can actually get a normal version of this mount from the Ancient Dig minigame at Dusty Dunes.

To play this minigame, you must pay the archeologist NPC one golden ticket per attempt. You can get these from the shrine beside him, or through various activities, such as boss killing and fishing.

The Ancient Dig minigame itself is simple. All you have to do is spam clicks on the glowing tiles until you unearth what is below them.

The more clicks a tile requires, the higher the rarityof whatever it’s hiding. Use this knowledge to your advantage so you can skip low rarity items once several tiles appear at once.

The jetpack has a very low drop rate, which varies depending on your charms and world bonuses. Specifically, the Gamer bonus makes it more likely for you to get legendary and secret drops from minigames, which includes this mount.

The Boombox Mount

Just like the jetpack, the Boombox can be acquired by completing a specific minigame. Specifically, the Dance Off minigame within the Gloomy Grotto (it’s the area after Dusty Dunes)

Talk to the Break Dance Champ to start this minigame, which involves you pressing directional buttons based on what the opponent does. It is essentially just a game of Simon Says.

Again, the Gamer bonus increases your drop chance for this mount, and it actually has a much higher likelihood of dropping when compared to the jetpack.

With that said, the drop rate is still in the thousands, and with how slow this minigame can be, it will still be quite a bit of a grind. Especially since you can only attempt it if you have golden tickets.

The UFO Mount

This strange alien saucer can be acquired through minigames as well. Either of the two previously mentioned ones will have this in its drop list.

However, it will always have a lower likelihood of dropping when compared to the other mounts that you can get there, so we hope you have some Gamer pets on hand if you want it.

It can also drop from bosses, though at a significantly lower rate than in some of the minigames. Because of this, if you are trying to grind for the UFO, it’s better if you do both activities whenever you can.

NOTE: The UFO is a limited mount that you can only get throughout the current alien-themed event. Depending on when you’re reading this, it may or may not be available from both the bosses and minigames.

The Prismatic Hoverboard

Finally, the current rarest mount in the game is the Prismatic Hoverboard, which is basically a glowing board that leaves a rainbow trail wherever it goes.

This can only be acquired by killing a Prismatic Slime, which is an incredibly rare mob that can show up in any region of the game. Specifically in areas where enemies can spawn.

Not only is getting one of these slimes to show up already difficult, the Prismatic Hoverboard itself has a very very low drop rate, making this one a matter of pure luck with no real method of grinding aside from just AFKing beside mobs and hoping for the best.

With that said, I’ve seen a handful of people zooming around on one of these, so they definitely exist. They’re just extremely hard to get.

And those are all of the mounts in the game at the moment, as well as how you can get them! While you’re here, you might also want to read up on how to get golden cherries quickly in Pet Catchers so you can start making your own shiny pets!
