Blue Onion Stuck in the Water Guide
In Pikmin 4, there is a blue Pikmin onion located on a small ledge above a pool of water. To get the blue Pikmin onion, you need to use your Ice Pikmin to freeze the water. In order to un-stuck the Blue Onion, you’ll need to make Oatchi learn how to swim and you must be able to use Blue Pikmins.
However, if you recall your Ice Pikmin too early, the water will unfreeze. The blue Pikmin onion will then fall into the water.
Once the blue Pikmin onion is in the water, don’t worry. It’s not impossible to get it out without the help of blue Pikmin. Even if none of the other types of Pikmin can pick up objects from the water. In order to get access to Blue Pikmin, you need to get to the next area. But if you really insist on not using the blue Pikmin, use the following step.
There is only one thing you can do to get the blue Pikmin onion out of the water.
If you have played Pikmin 4, you know that Oatchi can charge. However, if you reach the Blue Onion early in the game, you may not know that Oatchi can also swim. Oatchi’s Doggy Paddle ability allows him to tread water. It is automatically unlocked on the sixth day.
Some players have claimed that you can unlock Doggy Paddle sooner by repeatedly trying to make Oatchi swim until a cutscene where he drowns plays. You will unlock Doggy Paddle the next morning.
Once Oatchi has learned Doggy Paddle, you can use his charge ability in the water. To do this, hold down the A button and move the control stick in the direction you want Oatchi to charge.
Charging the Blue Onion will slowly move it towards the shore. This is a slow process, so it may take some time to get the Blue Onion all the way to shore. Once the Blue Onion is on dry land, you can have any type of Pikmin carry it to your base.
