How To Get Blue Pikmin Onion

As we mentioned, finding the Blue Pikmin Onion will be easy. The difficult part is to figure out how to actually get it. To do this, you will need to complete some steps. You will need to get some specific things to help you out and let you get the Blue Pikmin Onion easily. Let’s take a look at them.

Here are the steps:

1. Get two Flarlics.
2. Have at least 50 Pikmin Power.
3. Collect 30 Ice Pikmin.
4. Level up the Oatchi’s Buff skill at level 3.

Detailed Walkthrough

You will need at least 40 Pikmin—40 Ice Pikmin, plus at least 10 more Pikmin—to obtain the Blue Onion. You can extend your Pikmin limit to 40 by getting the two flarlic in the Sun-Speckled Terrace. You can find the flarlics in Last-Frost Cavern.

You should be able to hold 40 Pikmin, even with the two Flarlic you can obtain at Sun-Speckled Terrace to increase your Pikmin count. However, the Blue Onion requires a total of 50 Pikmin if you want them to carry it for you. Therefore, you should increase it before you proceed to get the Blue Onion.

You have two options to be able to carry Blue Onion:

• Collect 1,500 Sparklium to access the second region, Blossoming Arcadia, and enough Flarlic to hold at least 50 Pikmin.
• Use Oatchi’s skill points to give him at least 10 Pikmin’s worth of power.

You should have at least 30 Ice Pikmin with you before you go to get the Blue Onion. Getting it heavily relies on Ice Pikmins. If you don’t have enough of them, you can find them in two caverns. Take a look at the pictures below to see the caverns’ location.

Redo the caverns until you have 30 Ice Pikmin.

Once everything else is done, it is time to head to the Blue Onion. You can clearly see its location on the map.

There, you will see that there is a pond of water you need to pass through. Use 30 Ice Pikmin to freeze the water. Once it is done, find the wall on the left and get your other Pikmins to build a climbing wall.

Once the wall is completed, climb up. Send the Red Pikmin to defeat the Fiery Blowhog defending the Blue Onion, which you can see partially buried in the ground after the wall has been constructed. Send your 10 Red Pikmin to begin digging out the Blue Onion after you have defeated the monster.

You will get the Blue Onion like this, however, your job is not done yet. You should either use 20 Pikmin to carry the Blue Onion for you, or you will need to use Oatchi’s skill. If you want to use Oatchi for this mission, you should get the ability to ride it. It unlocks with the training.

If you chose to use Oatchi, return to the pond of water and freeze it. While leaving Oatchi on the other side to prevent him from falling into the water, call your Ice Pikmin across and quickly ascend the climbing wall. To get the Blue Onion to the ledge, have the Ice Pikmin begin to carry it.
