Scarlet and Violet, the newest Pokemon role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by the Pokemon Company for the Nintendo Switch, is the latest installment in the Pokemon series.

This new Pokemon game takes cues from the previous game released earlier this year.

It offers three distinct but interconnected stories, fusing elements from traditional mainline entries with those of open-world adventures.

How to Open Purple Shrine Door in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

At the very start of the game, you’ll notice a mysterious Purple Door with what looks like a symbol. You may be tempted to open it, but you’ll later find out it’s a puzzle you need to solve.

As you go around the map, you’ll find purple stakes tied to this Purple Door.

This guide will show you what to do with these Purple Stakes and how to unlock the mysterious purple shrine door in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.

Unlocking Purple Door

The Purple Door is a special shrine door for the Grasswither Shrine. There are a total of four colored doors you can find in each corner of the map: purple, green, yellow, and red. Each door has a corresponding color stake that you need to collect.

To unlock the Purple Door, you need to find 8 Purple Stakes in the South East area of the map, just around the area where the door is.

You will need to unlock glide and climb first in order to do so. Thus, you must get into the game’s later stages before opening the door.
