One of the most powerful Pokemon you can catch outside the Legendary tier is Garchomp. It is a Ground/Dragon type that may possess the Rough Skin Ability or the Sand Veil Ability.

A Gible can be caught and leveled up to 24 to become a Gabite. Then, after reaching level 48, it will evolve into a Garchomp.

Fortunately, You can directly catch a Garchomp in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, so you do not need to catch a Gible and grind to evolve it.

You should get ready because Garchomp will be at a high level. It will also use a Terastal Form, a brand-new battle mechanic first seen in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Use a Pokemon that battles Garchomp effectively.

Pokemon that has Dragon, Water, Grass, or Ice type moves are highly recommended.

You can also put it to sleep to make it easier to catch. But keep in mind that you may need to use numerous Pokeballs or Ultraballs to catch a Garchomp.
