Project Smash continues to stay fresh with constant updates, which include new characters that you can learn and dominate with. In this guide, we will be covering the Reaper, which, as you would expect, uses a scythe in combat. We’ll also provide you with a handful of combos to try out as you are learning this new class.
Complete Reaper Guide & Combos
The new Reaper character costs a total of $22,000, making it the most expensive class to buy at the moment. It falls under the B-Tier, which is currently the highest of the categories in the game’s current version.
It is heavily based on the Ruby Rose character from RWBY, as evidenced by the red and black scythe and its skills’ names. On that note, here are the Reaper’s abilities:
- Silhouette (Skill 1) – The user performs a spinning attack that deals 7% damage. At the end of the animation, the Reaper will also fire a gunshot that deals 5% damage and knocks back the target.
- Rose Burst (Skill 2) – The user leaps into the air and fires a gunshot that deals 12% damage. This will knock back the target if the shot lands.
- Guillotine (Skill 3) – The Reaper will dash forward and latch onto the target. This is followed by a gunshot that will knock back the target. This move does 9% damage.
- Lady Bug (Skill 4) – The user does a lunging slash three times and fires a shot at the end that knocks the target back. Each hit (including the shot) must be aimed individually, with each dealing 3% damage if it lands.
Out of these four moves, Silhouette and Lady Bug can be blocked while the other two are unblockable. Use this knowledge to your advantage if your opponent is turtling or playing too passively.
Proper cooldown management can also allow you to use the Reaper’s kit in order to gain height or simply move around the arena much faster. This can make chasing a breeze, though you may be a bit vulnerable if everything is on cooldown.
Example Combos to Try + Misc. Tips
Reaper has some very smooth transitions and just abilities in general, making it very easy to string together moves even without a concrete plan. With that being said, here are some example combos to try out:
- 3x basic attack -> Silhouette -> 3x basic attack -> Lady Bug -> 3x basic attack -> backward dash -> Rose Burst: This deals 63% damage if executed completely.
- 3x basic attack -> Rose Burst -> 3x basic attack -> Lady Bug -> 3x basic attack -> Silhouette -> Guillotine: 72% total damage, but watch out for potential counters against Lady Bug and Rose Burst.
- 3x basic attack -> downslam extender -> 3x basic attack -> Rose Burst -> 3x basic attack -> Lady Bug -> 3x basic attack -> Silhouette -> Guillotine: 87% total damage, same possible counters as the previous combo.
These are just some of the simpler combos that you can pull off. With enough practice, you can experiment with other strings and go for more complicated maneuvers and finishers.
Ability Tips
One important bonus tip for you is that you should be mindful of your surroundings when using Rose Burst. This is because the ability is cancelled if you bump into a surface mid-animation. Try not to use it in cramped spaces, otherwise you’ll throw off your own combo.
Also, don’t forget to readjust your camera while casting Lady Bug. Since the first three slashes are executed independently and include a short forward dash, it can be very easy to miss if you don’t adjust fast enough.
Finally, Guillotine will only land if you aim the slash correctly, not when your character model touches another player. Pay close attention to the actual attack animation and not the positioning of your character as you are casting it.
And that is pretty much everything you need to know in order to start mastering the new Reaper character in this Roblox fighting game. While you’re here, check out our complete guide on the Gambler in Project Smash to start learning one of the other new characters added to the game recently.
