Beginner’s Guide

Radiant Residents has a lot of things going on in the game, and you’ll need to learn a lot of things when you first play.

It doesn’t help that when you first play the game and get to the bunker, you’re dumped with a wall of information texts. The game doesn’t even pause while you’re reading these!

Collect Items Before the Apocalypse

This game is heavily inspired by 60 Seconds, which is a game where a family has to try to survive the post-apocalypse.

At the start of that game, you have 60 seconds to get various items in the house and place them in the bunker before the bombs drop.

In Radiant Residents, it’s pretty much the same thing. You have 4 inventory slots, and you need to pick up items like food or weapons in the house and place them in the bunker. Some items only take one slot while other items like the baseball bat take 4 slots.

Each player has to try their best to get as many items into the bunker as possible. There are other items in the game besides food and weapons that you can get. Some of them are important in helping you survive for as long as possible.

Also, remember that players need to be inside the bunker before the 60 seconds are up. If you don’t make it, then you’ll die and will have to spectate.

Surviving Inside The Bunker

Once you’re inside the bunker, that’s where the bulk of the game happens. The bunker will have all sorts of mini-games for you to do to maintain the bunker. These mini-games range from fixing pipes to placing traps in vents to keep things out.

When you’re trying to fix something in the bunker, you’ll get a choice of either playing the mini game or using an item to immediately fix it.

Items are limited but can sometimes save you a lot of time, so use it when you need it.

You can see the stats of each player on the whiteboard. Keep an eye on the stats so nobody dies.

If Hunger or thirst goes low, then use the items to get them back up. Using medkits to replenish health requires the other player’s approval, and a vote shows next to the whiteboard.

NOTE: Using almost every item from medkits to bug spray needs the approval of other players through voting. Keep an eye on the side of the whiteboard on what votes there are.

Days and events go by fast in this game, and it’s quite common to be in the middle of a mini-game when a new day starts. Make sure to do things as fast as you can and with the least amount of error.

Events And Choices

From time to time, the bunker will have an event that the players need to vote on. These events can range from a dog appearing and asking for food to enemies spawning in trying to kill you. It is up to you and your team if you want to do these events or not.

Most events have consequences when you don’t do them or fail to do them. Sometimes, it’ll spawn enemies and you’ll need to clear them with weapons. It’s best to equip weapons early and be at the ready always.

Events aren’t just in the pop-ups either, as sometimes, they’re part of your bunker system as well. Make sure to check your vents because spiders and rats can get in, use bug spray or traps to remove them. If a man is in the vents, then it’s highly suggested you close the vent.
