RoadCraft: How to Get the Generator

Heads up: there's a shortcut for this mission, just in case you didn't know...

Look, I’ll be honest, my first attempt at the generator mission in RoadCraft was a hot mess. I got lost trying to find the right ramp, nearly rage-quit dragging that clunky box of metal around tight corners and didn’t even notice the shortcut until it was too late. So, if you’re also stuck trying to figure out how to get the generator from that maze of a facility, you’re not alone, and you’ve come to the right place. In this guide, I’ll walk you through everything: how to find the facility, what to push, where to climb, and how not to repeat my mistakes (please use the shortcut, seriously).

How to Get the Generator

The generator is your first major objective in RoadCraft’s opening mission “All Hands On Deck”. You’ll find it at the abandoned construction site, also called the Abandoned Facility on the map. The mission is simple on paper: locate and recover the generator. But between ramp puzzles, confusing paths, and a few tricky turns, it can take longer than it should, especially if you don’t know where to go.

How to Get to the Abandoned Facility

First, hop into your Scout Vehicle, or whatever you’ve got at the time, and follow the road until you reach the marked location: the Abandoned Facility.

This area is pretty obvious once you get close. It looks like a half-built construction zone, and a tutorial prompt will show up once you’re nearby. You’ll want to use your Object Scanner to confirm that the generator is located on the rooftop of the building.

Getting Inside the Building

Head around to the southwest side of the facility. You’ll find a movable ramp there.

Push it over to create your first path up. It might seem insignificant, but these ramps are everything in this mission, you’ll be using several of them to climb your way to the top.

Once you’re in, crash through the first wooden boarded wall to open up the next area.

Building Your Path with Ramps

Now that you’re inside the facility, keep heading left. There’s another wooden wall you’ll need to push down. Do it carefully, don’t crash straight into the wall or you might end up flipping your vehicle (learned that the hard way).

From there:

  • Climb up to a raised platform.
  • Push another ramp down to form a flatter path.
  • Loop back down, drive through the newly formed path, and continue upward toward the next level.

You’re slowly zig-zagging your way up the construction site, creating ramps as you go.

Locate and Winch the Generator & Drag It Carefully

At the top level, you’ll finally spot the generator. Scan it if needed to confirm. Nearby, there’s yet another ramp to push down, do this now to make space for your extraction route.

Now comes the fun part: attach the generator to your vehicle using the winch. I strongly recommend attaching it to the back of your car, not the front. It’s way easier to drive forward and avoid corners this way.

Begin pulling the generator back through the path you created. It’s not exactly a smooth ride, watch out for tight corners, especially near pipes and edges. It’s surprisingly easy to get the generator stuck here if you’re not paying attention.

Take it slow and steer wide.

Use the Shortcut (Don’t Be Like Me) & Deliver the Generator

Okay, so here’s where I majorly goofed: I dragged the generator all the way around the building before realizing… There’s a shortcut bridge you can lower.

Once you’ve grabbed the generator, check your map and look for a small side path leading to a lowerable bridge. Go there, knock the ramp down, and boom, you can pull the generator straight out without looping around the entire facility.

Tip: Always look around before committing to a long haul. You’ll thank yourself later.

At the end of your route is a big yellow circle, that’s your delivery zone. Guide the generator into it, and the game will register your objective as complete.

Congrats! You’ve officially completed the “All Hands on Deck” mission and recovered your first generator in RoadCraft.

Wrap-up

The generator mission in RoadCraft can be a little tricky if you go in blind, but once you know what to look for and where to push, it’s honestly pretty satisfying to complete. Plus, pulling that massive thing back like a post-apocalyptic tow truck boss? Kinda awesome. Hope this guide helped! Good luck out there, and don’t forget to lower that bridge.
