The Red Dungeon update just added Cid Kagenou V2, which is easily one of the most powerful and most frustratingly difficult specs to get in Rock Fruit (do not confuse this with Cid Beta). If you thought getting Cid V1 was tough, buckle up, because V2 takes the grind to a whole new level. In this guide, I’ll break down everything you need to know, how to get it, the pain of farming for materials, and most importantly, whether all that suffering is actually worth it. So, if you’re ready to push your luck (and patience) to the limit, let’s jump into the guide!
How To Get Cid Kagenou V2 Guide & Showcase
First things first, you need Cid V1 before even thinking about upgrading. If you don’t have it yet, check out our guide on how to get it first.
Once you have Cid V1, make your way to the Event Island (with the big rainbow and rainbow-colored buildings/trees). You’ll need two key items to upgrade it:
- Blade Shadow
- Blood of Shadow
Getting these items is where things start to get a little painful. I learned the hard way and traded away some key materials for Cid V2 before realizing their true worth. Big mistake. Consider this my friendly PSA: think twice before parting with your resources!

How to Get Blade Shadow
You have a few options, but none of them are easy:
- Chests or Dungeon Rewards – Random drops, so it’s all about luck.
- Farming the New Island’s Mobs – There’s a 0.3% drop rate, which means you could be grinding for hours before seeing one.
Unless you get lucky, expect to spend a good chunk of time farming for this.
How to Get Blood of Shadow
This is where things really get frustrating. Blood of Shadow is a craftable item with only a 5% success rate. That means, on average, you’ll fail 19 times before finally crafting it.
Crafting Requirements for Blood of Shadow
To craft it, you need:
- Orb Atomic
- Glass Tube
- Orb Blood
Orb Atomic and Glass Tube are found in chests, so they’re not too bad. Orb Blood, though? That’s where things get rough.
How to Get Orb Blood
You have two choices:
- Buy it from the Red Dungeon Shop – Costs 30 dungeon points per Orb Blood.
- Farm the Red Dungeon – The Iris Boss drops it, but the chances are incredibly low.

The Real Grind Behind Blood of Shadow
Let’s do some quick math. If you’re relying on crafting, you’ll need 10 Orb Atomic, 10 Glass Tubes, and 10 Orb Bloods to hit a guaranteed success rate.
Now, let’s say you’re buying Orb Blood instead of farming it. You’ll need 300 dungeon points for ten of them. That’s about 25+ hours of straight dungeon grinding just to get the points.
Realistically, no one wants to spend that much time in a dungeon for a single upgrade. If you get lucky and craft Blood of Shadow early, you’re golden. If not… well, it’s going to be a long ride.

Cid V2 Move Showcase & How It Holds Up in Red Dungeon
Now that we’ve covered the grind, let’s check out what Cid V2 actually does.
- Basic Attacks (M1s)
- Fast and smooth, making it feel great in combat.
- Z Move – Quick Strike
- Decent range and solid damage
- Only a 2-second cooldown, which makes it easy to spam
- X Move – Time Stop
- Stops time for 10 seconds, which is huge for both PvP and boss fights.
- Definitely one of the strongest moves in the kit.
- C Move – Atomic Slash
- 20-second cooldown
- Pretty standard AoE attack
- Honestly, the visuals could use an upgrade.
- V Move – Cutscene Attack
- Probably one of the best-looking cutscene moves in the game.
- High damage and super satisfying to land.
- F Move – Literal One-Shot 💀
- Hits insanely hard and can one-shot bosses and players.
- Short cooldown, making it feel borderline broken.
- This is the move that justifies the insane grind.
Now, if you’re wondering how it performs in Red Dungeon, Cid V2 one-shots Aegis boss and even Gojo boss, which is just ridiculous. Yeah, this thing is absolutely busted. Short cooldown, huge damage, and not an overly long cutscene, it’s just solid all around.
Is Cid Kagenou V2 Worth the Grind?
If you’re wondering whether Cid Kagenou V2 is worth the grind, the quick answer is hell yeah, that is if you’re up to the hellish grind as well. Here are its pros and cons:
- Pros:
- Fast, powerful attacks
- Time Stop is crazy strong for both PvE and PvP
- F Move has one-shots even the strongest bosses in the game
- Great animations, especially the V Move
- Cons:
- The grind is brutal
- Orb Blood farming is a nightmare
- C Move feels a little underwhelming
If you can survive the grind, Cid V2 is 100% worth it. It’s one of the most powerful specs/weapons in the game, and the F move alone makes it insanely strong for both bosses and PvP. That said, if you don’t have the patience for dungeon farming, this might not be for you.
