Puzzles have been a standard for videogames as bonus feature. Why? Simply because they can be intensive and satisfying to do and accomplish. Roots of Pacha is not an exception for this niche. In fact, the puzzles are one of the many things that make this game great and interesting. There is a certain puzzle in the game that you will eventually encounter called “Owl Totem Offerings & Puzzle”. If you find yourself struggling to solve them, this guide has got you covered!

Owl Totem Offerings & Puzzle Guide

When they get to Day 4 of the game, players will receive a Smoke Signal – “The Caves Are Calling”. This will allow the player to unlock the cave exploring and mining features. This will allow the player to enter the deepest caves which can give powers. This includes the Forest Cave containing the Owl Totem, which gives the player the Power of the Owl.

When you unlock this notification, you will see that the roots that are blocking the caves have disappeared just like in the image below.

How to Unlock the Owl Totem – Completing The First Trial

When players first enter the Forest Cave, three armadillo-like animals called ‘Glyps’ appear. For a more detailed description on how they look, you can see that one is green, one is pink, and one is yellow. These three creatures will warn players of what is lying ahead – a strength test. There is only one way to pass this test, by smashing rocks, very simple right?

After that, you will want to keep going deeper into the caves. As you move your character deeper and deeper into the caves, you will be able to see a painting between the green and the pink creatures. Then, you will want to examine that drawing, which will show some fruits and seeds.

When you get to the next room, you will encounter a statue of a Glyptodon. When you interact with the yellow glyptodon spirit, it will tell you that you must leave an offering. Now, take a look at the image above, that is what you need to offer.

You may choose to offer a pinecone, a wild pomegranate or a coconut at the statue. After you give your offerings, there will be a dialogue from the statue saying that you are eligible for a trial challenge. This challenge requires you to “keep count”.

This means that you – the player – need to count the exact number of Glyptodon Spirits that come out of the holes around you in the cave. As you can see in the image down below, there are a total number of five (5) Glyptodon Spirits. Their colors are blue, yellow, orange, pink and green.

After they stop running around, you will be asked how many of them have appeared. The correct answer for this question is “five”. Then, as a reward for answering correctly, you will gain access to Glyptodons’ Power. With this power, you can travel through the caves at certain points using Glyptodon Holes. The hole is located next to the statue. See the image down below for reference.

The Third Drawing

The third picture is actually quite easy to find, because it is located on the Owl Statue itself. In order to get to Owl Statue, follow the steps in the paragraph down below.

After you unlock the teleporting hole by completing the first trial by the three Glyptodons, you can venture deeper into the cave. When you go deeper, you need to enter a cave room called “the Owl’s Preamble”.

Roots of Pacha Teleport to Owl's Preamble Option

You can take the teleport if you have it. When you get to the room, head north and you will see an entrance that is blocked with roots. Chop the roots and go through this door to find the Owl Totem.

When you have arrived at the location, you will be able to see an Owl Statue. Interact with it and choose the View Paintings option to take a closer look.

Owl Totem Puzzle – The Solutions

In order to solve the owl totem puzzle, you will need to interact with the cylinders to make sure the light beam lights up a hawk icon that is carved into a stone. There are circles on the ground which you can interact with to turn into an owl. This will allow you to move around and get to the cylinders.

First, turn into an owl using the circle. See the image down below on how you can do it. Next, fly to the upper left corner of the area.

After you get to the location, interact with the cylinder and make sure that the light is pointing to the right (see the image down below).

Next, you will want to use the circle to again turn into an owl and fly to your right, to the very end of the map.

When you get to the very end of the map on your right, interact with the light beam so that it faces downwards. For more information to help you locate yourself in the area, you will be able to see a yellow glyptodon on that island.

Next, you will want to fly downwards to get to the next cylinder.

After you fly downwards, interact with the cylinder on that island. Make sure that the light beam is facing left.  Next, take the circle and turn into an owl.

To go to the next location, fly to the left to the very end of the map. When you get to the location, there should be a pink spirit next to the device. Interact with it and make sure the light beam is facing upwards. See the image down below.
