Rune Factory 5 Soil Stats & Farming Mechanics Explained

Rune Factory 5 is a farming simulator first, monster hunter game second. You earn most of your funds from farming instead of hunting monsters. So as a farmer, you have to make sure your soil is in tip-top condition and you know how to actually farm. Otherwise, your farm is going to die before you can even earn anything. In this guide, we’ll teach you how Soil Stats and Farming in the game works.

Soil Stats & Farming Mechanics Explained – Rune Factory 5

First off is Soil Stats. This is basically to check what status your soil has. It’s also crucial in farming because you obviously need good soil in order to get a good harvest. Basically; better quality soil, better quality harvest.

A good way to check the stats of the soil is by purchasing and using the Magnifying Glass. This will allow you to get a detailed look at the status and see if there’s something wrong with any of them.

You’ll have six statuses viewable if you use the Magnifying Glass.

  • Overall – The health and defense of the soil.
  • Speed – The speed your soil will grow crops. Quick tip, use Formula Items to increase speed.
  • Size – The size of the crop you will get when you harvest. You can use Giantizer to increase the size of the crop.
  • Quality – Determines the quality of the crop before harvesting.
  • DMG Res. – Shows you how protected the crops will be against typhoons and other dangerous weather. You can increase this status by using Weattable Powder.
  • No. – It’s basically the number of crops you can get.

Another tip to avoid the hassle of bringing out the Magnifying Glass, upgrade a tool with the Magnifying Glass in order to get the ability to view statuses when using said tool.

Now, how can you improve the level of your soil? Well, you harvest as many crops as possible. Harvest until the soil will get a fatigue, which will happen eventually. At this point, you need to give the soil time to recover before going at it again.

Farming is relatively easy in Rune Factory 5. Just plant your seed, water it every day, and eventually, you’ll get your crop to harvest. You can use items to improve the soil as well, and it’s advisable to do so as the results will reap you incredible rewards.
