Disney Dreamlight Valley offers a ton of quests from different characters. While the quests may seem repetitive (which it is), it does not detract from the fact that we are still helping iconic Disney characters live their life in a village that you invited them into, and that’s a cool thing. However, you can also take quests from iconic Disney villains as well. In this guide, we will focus on the “Shine a Light” quest that is given to you by Mother Gothel, the villain from Tangled. What does she want? What is her goal? Find out in this quest.
Disney Dreamlight Valley – Shine a Light Quest
Once you get the quest from Mother Gothel, you will have to collect 45 Softwood, 60 Fiber, 3 Garnet, 3 Aquamarine, and 3 Citrine. Softwood is easily collectible since you can collect them from anywhere within the Meadow and the Plaza. Just approach any wood that’s on the floor that’s near any sort of tree.
Fiber is the only material here that you need to craft. You have to go fishing for Seaweed first, and since you need 60 Fiber, you’re going to need a lot of Seaweed. We recommend you to fish 20 Seaweed in order to get the 60 Fiber, as Seaweed gives 5 Fiber per crafting.
For the gems, you will need to find them in the breakable rocks that are found in the corner of the map. If you find a rock with gems in it, then your chances of getting the gems are doubled. The location of each gem can be found in:
- Aquamarine – Dazzle Beach and Forest of Valor
- Citrine – Sunlit Plateau and Glade of Trust
- Peaceful Meadow and Plaza
Once you have all of the materials needed to craft 3 Sunlight Torches, head to the Crafting Station. Use all of the materials collected to craft 3 Sunlight Torches. After that’s complete, head to Mother Gothel and talk to her. She will then ask you to place the torches at the bottom of the Mystical Cave.
Go to the Mystical Cave and place the Sunlight Torches on these 3 pedestals. Once you place all 3 torches, you will then have to take a picture of the symbols that are on the wall. Take a picture and head back to Mother Gothel and show her the picture. After that, the quest is over.
