Shinobi Lineage just came out, and it is a roguelike experience on Roblox that has you living out your dreams as a ninja while traveling through all sorts of locations and fighting various deadly enemies. In this guide, we will be giving you a few tips to keep in mind as a new player so that you can (hopefully) avoid dying in this hardcore experience!

Complete Beginner’s Guide

As you first spawn into Shinobi Lineage, you will be given a random clan, which you can reroll by speaking to Orochimaru. This will cost you 50 Robux per roll attempt, so you will probably be sticking with what you start with.

Each clan has their own distinct set of abilities, but there are too many to list down here so you will have to explore that on your own. We’ll cover this topic in slightly more detail further below this guide.

The other NPC that you will be able to speak with is Hagoromo Otsusuki. By speaking with him, you can choose to either be a man or woman, and after selecting your preferred character type, you will be teleported to the main game.

Warping – How Does it Work?

The first ability that every player gets is Warp, and it is a little complicated. We’ll be covering it in more detail in our guide on how to use Warp in Shinobi Lineage, but let’s talk about the bare basics of it here.

Basically, this ability will allow you to teleport to your location of choice by charging up your mana and typing your desired place in the chat box.

After selecting the Warp ability, hoveryour mouse cursor right over the bar on the left side of the screen. Then, charge your mana by holding the G button until the bar is at around 60 to 85% before letting go and casting the ability.

As the animation is playing, type one of the following locations in the chat box to teleport to its respective spot:

  • Deathforest
  • Forest x (Replace “x” with the number 1 up to 5)
  • Slug
  • Sigil
  • Skycastle
  • Tundra x (Replace “x” with the number 1 up to 7)
  • Desert x (Replace “x” with the number 1 up to 5)

If done correctly, the Warp ability should take you to the teleport spot that you typed in. If done incorrectly, such as is you did not use enough mana, you may be sent to the void. This will instantly kill you, so make sure to get it right!

Grinding Up Some Money

As a new player, you should start farming up some money by collecting and selling trinkets. To do this, warp to Tundra 5. This will take you to Mount Gelu, and all you need to do from here is enter the large temple nearby.

This is the Northern Sanctuary, and there will be a ton of trinkets scattered around the building. They can be above tables, sitting on pews, propped up on bookshelves, and more. Just run over to these random items and click them to pick them up.

Once you’ve collected a fairly large number of these assorted items, find a merchant NPC anywhere in the game and select the “I wanna sell in bulk” option to exchange all of that junk for cash. A single trip should net you around 1,000 to 3,000 Yen, give or take.

We actually have a more in-depth guide for this method. If you want to make even larger stacks of cash early on, check out our article on how to get rich fast in Shinobi Lineage.

Spending the Money

Once you have at least a couple thousand Yen on hand, Warp to Forest 5. This will take you to the Hidden Leaf Village. The first building to the right upon crossing the bridge is the weapon store.

Pick and buy whichever weapon you think you’ll like the best, and then you can work your way towards training in its respective class. For example, a spear user can become a Dragon Knight or Crusader.

Again, this is mainly going to be based on personal preference, so I won’t force you to make a choice that you may not be comfortable with. Though, you could also take a quick peek at our best build guide for Shinobi Lineage if you need a recommendation.

Ranking Up Your Character

In order to get your rank up, you must first Warp to deathforest. Then, speak with Jiraiya to get a quest to kill the nearby Zetsus. These enemies use a basic attack string, making them very easy to deal with.

They have a chance to drop Chakra Essence, and you will need ten of these for your first rank up. Once you have enough, Warp to Desert 4 and enter the Cardinal Passage area.

In one of the buildings here, you will find an NPC named Cyprian, who will offer to promote you in exchange for ten Chakra Essences. This will increase your chakra reserves, so try and get this done as early as you can!

You can also rank up in your respective clan, but this will be covered in greater detail in another guide as it will vary wildly depending on what you got at the start or if you rerolled.

Basically, by doing the quests given to you by your clan leader, you can unlock new abilities that will make you much more powerful. At the moment, all you need to do is typically just kill Zetsus as well, so it’s pretty straightforward.

And those are pretty much all of the tips we can give you that will hopefully help you as a novice player in this fresh new ninja game. While you’re here, check out our guide on all of the clan trainer locations and requirements in Shinobi Lineage so you can start unlocking new abilities too!
