Slap Battles continues to be updated on a regular basis, with creative new gloves being added every now and then. In the latest update, the Shackle glove was added, and it is fortunately something that you can get without doing anything special. In this guide, we will be showing you how to get it and what it is capable of!

How to Get Shackle Glove & Showcase

The Shackle glove is incredibly simple to get, as all you need is to have 12,500 slaps to spend for it. The glove itself can be found at around the midway point of the conveyor belt at spawn, right between the Stop and Wormhole gloves.

It has white and black stripes and is holding a large black metal ball that is chained to it. Behind the glove is the number “718122”, which does not seem to have any meaning as far as we can tell and might be a generic prisoner number.

What Does it Do? – Showcase

The Shackle glove is designed for tanking slaps and outplaying people. Its ability will spawn a metal ball that will keep you anchored to it until the duration runs out. Although it can be really helpful, there are a lot of downsides with it.

Before the disadvantages, let’s get to the things that make it good first. Here are some of the advantages of using the Shackle glove’s ability:

  • It can protect you from strong knockback effects and just plain slaps in general. Yes, this includes stuff like the recently released Fan glove or even the Bus glove.
  • With a very low cooldown, you can use it a lot, which can be really helpful if you are particularly good at timing it properly.
  • The ball itself also has the ability to knock enemies up and away on impact. While this isn’t its main purpose, it can help in clutch situations too.
  • The metal ball will protect you from even the strongest gloves, and you can even use it to hang around in the air for a bit, though you might need outside help to get back to safety.

Unfortunately, it also has its fair share of disadvantages. For starters, the anchoring effect has a very short range. As such, you do not have a lot of room to move around while the ability is active. If there is somebody with a lethal glove (such as Error), you are going to be an easy target.

The ability itself also only protects you from a single hit. After that, the ball and shackle immediately disappear. Because of this, you will have to be mindful of your cooldown so that you don’t get caught with your pants down.

Finally, it can be very buggy with a few gloves that have abilities that can move you around without slapping. For example, the very cheap Pusher glove has a very strange interaction with the metal ball.

The Pusher’s giant concrete wall would normally just push you away. However, if it hits you while the metal ball from the Shackle glove is active, there is a chance that you start glitching out and phase through the floor, forcing you to reset your character.

This might happen with other stuff, like the Bubble glove’s ability, though that example in particular is ineffective right now as it does literally nothing to an anchored Shackle glove user.

That is pretty much everything you need to know about the Shackle glove. Getting it really only requires a bit of grinding, and overall, it is probably one of the best options for players who prefer to have a more defensive play style.
