Finding that perfect place to build your base in survival crafting games can be tough. Just like a real house you’ll need to consider a lot of things. How convenient is it to go to? How close are the resources? Will it look good once you’ve built up the base? Will you get stabbed while sleeping in it? All valid questions to ask.

In Smalland you don’t have to worry about some of the problems having a base in these survival games bring. In this guide we’ll show you how Great Trees work, the giant trees that you’ll want to build you base on!

Great Trees Explained – How to Claim & Move a Tree Base In Smalland

Did you know that you can actually build a base in Smalland? Not only that but you can also build it on a giant tree. You can even share the base with your friends or move your base to another tree without a problem! Now let’s see how Great trees work!

Claiming Great Trees

So what are Great Trees anyway? Well, they’re these large trees, thus the name, and can spot them easily with the mushrooms that grow around it. You can then use the mushrooms to climb to the very top of the tree where you’ll find a Gnome Effigy. Talk to the Gnome Effigy to claim the tree as yours!

Don’t worry about climbing back up every time, since you can just use the lift that the tree has once you’ve claimed it!

If you’re unsure if you want to claim that specific tree and are worried about moving don’t worry about it! Once you find another Great Tree you can then claim the great tree and anything you’ve build will automatically be moved to the new tree!

If you decide to Unclaim the tree through the Gnome Effigy all the buildings you’ve built won’t be destroyed. Instead, they’ll be stored so the next tree you claim will spawn the same buildings!

Great Trees in Multiplayer

By default, the Great Tree you have will be private, that means only you can access the lift and all the interactable items on it. That includes containers and crafting benches like looms or stoves.

If you want to share your tree with your friends you can make it public, and they’ll be able to build and destroy things without any problem. They’ll also be able to use the lift and interact with things like containers, doors and workstations.

Remember to put a password on your server if you host one though. Failing to do so will make it so anyone can just join in and mess around with your stuff!

If you disconnect from a server, your base on that tree will also disappear so keep that in mind if you’re sharing with friends!

Congratulations you now know how Great Trees work in Smalland! Now go out there and build a great base for yourself or your friend!
