Grappling is fun, it’s the closest thing you’ll get to playing Spiderman without actually switching to a different game. But what if you can ride the source itself while playing Smalland? It’s a bit gnarly to think about, to be honest, riding a hairy spider with its legs squirming about as you wrest control of the Overlands.

Now don’t think about it too much, you’ll get nightmares. What you need to think about is how to tame the Wolf Spider without getting killed in the process. Take a few moments to read the guide below if you’re still not sure how to tame one for yourself.

How To Tame A Wolf Spider – Smalland

Just like in Ark, you can also tame some of the creatures that you come across in the surface world. Five of them to be exact!

One of these would be the Wolf Spider, a creature that usually keeps to itself unless provoked or going on a hunt. It’s going to be different this time around since it’ll be YOU doing everything a reasonable person shouldn’t be caught doing, like going near it for example.

To begin the hunt you have to look for Lisandra and egg her with questions about spiders to get the quest. She can be found above the Albino Spider lair, the one that you’ll be fighting to tame Wolf Spiders.

Go through that hell and back to Lisandra to give her one of the eyes and she’ll give you a recipe that will come in handy when it comes to taming Wolf Spiders.

Go to your cauldron and craft yourself a Wolf Spider Treat or two, here are the ingredients you’ll need:

  • Grasshopper Leg x1
  • Spider Eye x2
  • Insect Wings x3
  • Petal x1
  • Seed Oil x2

To tame the beast or bug, simply whittle its health down to at least 50% and proceed to feed it with the treat that it likes.

A prompt will shortly appear that will tell you that the animal can now be tamed and mounted.

Just don’t one attack it at night, it’ll have friends waiting and the idea of seeing more than eight legs scurry over to you isn’t something that should be on your mind before all the fighting starts.

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
