One of the few things you don’t want to happen to you in Soul Knight Prequel is to waste materials that are difficult to come by whenever you’re out doing your crafting or upgrading.

Some items don’t drop that often from the monsters or bosses you defeat, which might fill you with uncertainty when it’s time to use them.

So with that said, it’s time for you to go through an equipment upgrade and crafting crash course. Read the rest of the guide below to find out if you know it all or could use a few more pointers!

Complete Equipment Upgrade & Crafting Guide

The Blacksmith is your go-to NPCwhenever you need something upgraded. The amount of resources you need in order to upgrade an item depends on the equipment’s overall rarity.

You can tell the rarity of an item from the color highlighting the box. Green is the most common item you can get, from there it goes up to blue, purple, and orange.

Detailed Upgrading Guide

What you need in order to upgrade your gear comes in the forms of fragments. The rarer the item, the more shards you use.

Green items require 8 fragments, Blue requires 12, Purple will need 16, and Orange with a whopping 20 shards along with 1 Legendary Shard.

Keep in mind that Legendary shards are colored in Orange as well.

To get Legendary Fragments, you need to dismantle legendary gear. That means going after bosses or mobs multiple times in order to get a copy of an item that you may already have.

Don’t do that early on in the game, you’re better off holding on to what you got for a while.

Get through the beginner stage and to a point where you start to receive more Epic Gear. Stash it all in your storage until a different character can make use of it, or if you have more duplicates.

At first, your Epic gear can have better stats than your legendaries when upgraded a few times. Legendary gear is quite difficult to upgrade, making it more viable to use Epic gear for the time being.

Another thing you should do is to only upgrade items you plan on using long term. Make sure that the pieces of equipment have the proper Fatebound bonuses that suits your build.

Having multiple items with the same Fatebound Node will enhance your gear even further. You’ll see those nodes by looking at your gear’s description in your inventory.

Once you have made an educated decision, you can hit “Enhance” at the bottom of the furnace. The cost of Fragments will go up until you get all the way to max rank.

That’s even more of a reason for you to not invest that much in Green or Blue gear.

Detailed Crafting Guide

For Crafting, you’re going to need some gold and cards from the drops you get from defeating monsters and bosses.

Each item will indicate how many cards you’ll need from certain mobs and bosses for them to become craftable.

If you’re looking for a certain item and it won’t show up on your crafting menu, then that means you haven’t unlocked the recipe for it.

To unlock the recipe, go to the local settlements and do quests. Another option is to get the card that’s part of that recipe from the monster who drops it.

Once you’ve decided which card to hunt down, find the area where you’ll encounter the boss. A good extra tip would be to set your pet to collect if you have one.

This makes it impossible for you to leave behind any cards that a boss may drop at the end of a fight.

The last thing you want to happen is to fight and waste resources for nothing in return. That usually ends up with you contacting the game’s customer care specialist asking what went wrong knowing in full that you didn’t pick up the item in the first place.

Access your codex if you want to know which area the monster or boss are residing in. Each area will be separated by tabs, making it easier for you to zero in on their location.

And that’s how you can upgrade and craft equipment in Soul Knight Prequel. It’s a long and tedious process, but the rewards will definitely be worth the trouble!

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
