For many people who aren’t familiar with the genre, shooter games may look like simplE. The genre can actually be quite complex though with many things to learn, from map layouts, callouts, tactics and so on. It’s not a glorified point and click action game but an actual game of wit and skill, that’s why there are whole teams who dedicate their life learning, understanding and mastering these games. There’s a reason why the shooter ESPORT scene is just as big as the RTS equivalent and that’s because these games have high skill ceilings. In this guide, we’ll show you one skill that most players know but only a few master and that’s recoil control.
Recoil Control Guide For Super People
When you shoot a gun most of the time it wants to go up, that’s called recoil. Shoot enough bullets and the gun goes way up that you’re not on target anymore, and that’s bad. We want our gun to stay on target and land as many bullets to the enemy, that’s where recoil control is.
So, when a gun is going up you can pull your mouse down to counteract the recoil. Simple right? Well, most guns have varying degrees of recoil. For example, usually an SMG will have significantly less recoil than an Assault Rifle, but then there is the PPSH which is a submachinegun with recoil higher than some Assault Rifles. That’s where you need to understand how much recoil each gun has and adjust accordingly; it’ll take some practice but after a few matches you’ll get the hang of it.
Another way to control recoil is to not make that much recoil, and that’s by shooting in small bursts. When starting out this is a great way to understand the recoil of the gun while being on target. Small bursts of 3-5 shots are great for guns with high recoil.
There are also attachments that reduce the recoil of guns, from compensators to vertical grips they can help greatly in keeping the gun on the target.
Congratulations you now know the basics of recoil control, now go out there and practice until you elminate that pesky recoil.
