Playing Tears of the Kingdom doesn’t always mean having to solve mind melting puzzles or scaling towers. Sometimes you have quests that are more straightforward in nature that you can do for a breath of fresh air. Funny how that works out for some people like Penn since he clearly only hears what he wants to.
In this guide, you’ll be surveying the nearby area that’s being disturbed by a disembodied voice. A true classic in Japanese literature! Don’t worry, the game won’t take a sudden shift in atmosphere. You’ll be done with the quest long before the intrusive thoughts kick in.
An Eerie Voice Guide
Finishing Penn’s quest will earn you 50 Rupees and a Froggy Sleeve. To get started, head to the Highland Stable east of the Haran Lake. Talk to Penn again and he will accompany you to the Fural Plain, you can get there by heading northwest of the camp.
Penn and a few of the locals native to the area are having a spot of bother with a voice they keep hearing around the Fural Plains. Something along the lines of “Leave the…rms…”
You won’t be looking for a sunken vessel that’s for sure. Finish your conversation with him and sit by the campfire until night and talk to Penn again to continue.
Upon arriving on the Fural Plain, you will have another conversation with Penn. This time, both of you will hear said haunting voice.
The voice is coming from the well northeast of the Haran Lake. Here are the coordinates: (0395, -3392, 0050). Not something you want to hear when you’re minding your own business. The only proper way to get to the bottom of this is to, well, dive right in!
Behold the magic of acoustics! Funny how words get distorted the farther they travel. The haunting voice is coming from Sagessa. She’s just minding her own business singing at the bottom of the well while the entire world around her is literally crying and shaking.
Return to the surface and talk to Penn. This will end the side quest. He’ll give you 50 rupees and a Froggy Sleeve as a reward and return to his people with the good word.
Remember when the voice said, “Leave your arms?” That caused a few of the locals to throw their weapons down the well. There’s a barrel filled with weapons sitting behind Sagessa, so do what’s right and take what you can leave with!
If you’re looking to sing or perform yourself, there’s a great fairy nearby that Penn’s looking into. Do that quest if you want upgrades for your armor!
