Are you excited to dive into this new amazing world of Zelda? Tears of Kingdom is the latest upcoming game of the Legend of Zelda series. Whether you are a new player or an old player who’s used to the previous game, this article will provide you with things you need to know to get started. Get your map ready and we will guide you through some tips you need to know!
Beginner Tips & Tricks – Tears Of The Kingdom
Use the Ability: Ascend
Ascend is an ability that allows your character to leap up and cross through barriers and terrains. Compared to the original previous game, this new ability allows you to move quicker through the map. This then allows you to explore more parts of the map in a shorter amount of time. It also improves your gaming experience because manually climbing is a tedious process. Climbing can take you a lot of time, so remember to pick up this ability because it will be of good use!
You can even ascend from the bottom of a cave to the top of it. Amazing, isn’t it?
Use the Ability: Recall
The Recall Ability allows you to bring things to their original position or state. In the image down below, you can see that you are actually able to roll the spike backwards and crush your enemies!
This ability is something that you can be extremely creative with, here’s another example. In this case, you can use the Recall ability to rewind the rock to its original position (the sky). By standing on it, you and the rock can actually go higher! When the game arrives and you start exploring, think of this ability as one of the ways you can get to locations you don’t usually expect to get to.
Use the Ability: Fuse
This one is an interesting one because it allows you to combine your equipment with other materials you find while exploring. This can give you a variety of new effects! For example, you can combine your Stick with a Boulder Rock to create a new weapon with extra damage. This can also increase your range, since it gets bigger when you combine them. Moreover, this can also restore your durability, there is a massive potential when using this skill.
The options and combinations you can choose from are huge, not just a stick and a rock combined. Let’s take a look at another fun example. You can use a farmer’s pitchfork with a stick to create a spear weapon with increased range and damage. Or you can attach ice on an arrow to for extra effects, mushroom on a shield that explodes on contact with enemies, and possibilities are endless! You can combine almost anything with your weapons and shields, so keep exploring.
A Wooden Stick Can Be Your Best Friend
Storms can damage your gear if they are metal, so you will need another alternative. The other options you can choose from are wooden or stone materials. With many to choose from, we would recommend a stick because this is a very easy to obtain material (by chopping trees).
Even though it does very little damage on its own, remember what we introduced you to in the previous section. Yes, you can use it to fuse with other things and increase its damage, how great!
What to Do Once You Got Your Camera Gadget
After you’ve obtained a camera, you will gain access to a quest that gives you 10 rupees for each well you discovered in Hyrule. You can select your camera to take a picture of those wells that you find. Next, you will need to put it in your Hyrule Compendium so you can track them.
Building and Constructions
You can use the new ability – the Ultrahand ability to start building contraptions. There are many things you can choose from. For example, you can craft a raft with engines on it so that it starts running! However, you cannot go on forever, there’s a zonite charge system to limit it. So give it as much charge as you possibly can to further. There is also an auto build feature so remember to explore with that when you get into the game.
Familiarize Yourself With Monster Patterns
This new game is like the previous game in the series, there are monsters what wander the land. The next tip is that you should get used to the monster types in the game. Memorize their attack patterns and movements to prevent yourself from being damaged, having a higher survivability and easily defeat those monsters. Be careful not to make loud noises as that can either help you win, or make you lose a fight.
Do you see that purple wavelength in the lower right corner of the image down below? That is the level of sound you are making with your character. Sometimes, if you make too much noise, you can scare animals or trigger monsters to attack you. So remember to kneel and stroll quietly and gently whenever you need to.
Some monsters from the old game Breath of the Wild can still appear in Tears of the Kingdom. Some of the names that we can mention are Moblins, Hinox, Lizalfos, Keese, Bokoblins, Taluses, Moblins, Hinox, Lizalfos, Keese, and Chuchus, etc. There are many more of those that will be added in Tears of the Kingdom so always be prepared!
Be Aware of the Weather
Take a look at the above image from the previous tip, on top of the purple wave length is the weather tracker. There are many different types of weather effects in the game, including Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy, Thunder and Snowy. These weather can have different effects on your exploring experiences, so always take them into consideration.
For example, as we mentioned in the previous part, lightning can damage your metal armor and weapon. Moreover, when it is hot or cold, put on appropriate clothes to protect your character. Some monsters, animals, or fish can spawn based on these conditions so always check that before you go out and find those.
If you are one of the people looking forward to this name game of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and wanting to be a step ahead, then remember this.
