So, you’ve been playing Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for quite a time now. You have travelled the beautiful lands of Hyrule, flew around the sky and its islands, fought great foes, explored the Depths and went inside to some of the caves. If you do, then you have probably come across Bubbul Frogs and the gems they contain, called Bubbul Gems. You may be wondering where and how to use them. In this guide, we’ll show you!
How to Use Bubbul Gems
Short answer is: you can trade them for items of value which are basically monster parts and goods that make you look like a monster. You’ll have to first find a familiar face from Breath of the Wild, Kilton. But in this game, you are introduced to his little brother, Koltin, which is on the search for Bubbul Gems. I’ll explain further in the guide why. If you want to know more, make sure to read on!
How to Find Kilton & Koltin
To first find Kilton, you’ll have to go to Woodland Stable. It’s located east of Hyrule Castle, in coordinates (0584, -3137, 0005).
After arriving at the location, you’ll have to go to coordinates (1231, 1205, 0020) and look for Kilton’s signature air balloon.
Interact with Kilton, and he’ll eventually introduce you to his little brother, Koltin.
You will then be introduced to Koltin’s search for Bubbul Gems to eat and fulfill his desire to turn to the Mythycal Satori. This will trigger the quest “The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!”.
To complete this quest, you’ll have to give Koltin a Bubbul Gem which is easy if you already have them beforehand. If you don’t, simply go inside the cave that Koltin came from and shoot the Bubbul Frog inside for the gem.
Trade Bubbul Gems for Equipment
Now that you have located the brothers and have successfully completed the quest, you’ll be given an option to trade with Koltin one Bubbul Gem for a Bokoblin Mask.
However, after trading once, Koltin will go to a different location which Kilton will soon reveal. You’ll have to go and see him first in Tarrey Town or other random locations all over Hyrule after 9 pm. To find him randomly, you’ll have to look for his signature air balloon.
If you’ve decided to travel your way to Tarrey Town, meet with Kilton and he’ll tell you about Koltin’s whereabouts. However, make sure you go see them at night or as stated by him “when the sun goes down”, or else Koltin won’t be in the location.
If you do see Koltin at night, you can once again trade him your Bubbul Gems for Moblin Mask.
Other Koltin Locations
There are several more monster parts and equipment that you can get from Koltin. I won’t spoil you since there’s fun in discovering them, the more Bubbul Gems you get on your adventures. However, do take note that Koltin bounces from different locations after every transaction. The locations are:
- Woodland Stable with coordinates (1222, 1206, 0020)
- North of Tarrey Town with coordinates (3662, 2065, 0168)
- South of Lookout Landing with coordinates (-0319, 0163, 0022)
- East of Lake Hylia with coordinates (0586, -2681, 0112)
That sums it up, if you are looking for Bubbul Frog locations, we have guides for them as well. Make sure to check them out!
