Side quests play an essential role in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as they provide an enjoyable way to explore the world and reward the players with items such as weapons, armor, and access to unexplored areas. Keeping that in mind, this guide for the Mired in Muck side quest will provide detailed instructions on completing this fun little side story.

- The first step is to activate the quest, which is done by talking to the guard trapped in the sludge right next to the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower.
- Once done talking to the guard, climb the cliff behind him, and on top, you will find a plant with Splash Fruit.
- Take a couple of Splash Fruit and proceed back to the trapped guard.
- Throw the splash fruit on the sludge near the trapped guard.
- Hit the dropped splash fruit with your weapon or shoot it using your bow to remove the sludge.
- Talk to the guard to receive your rewards.
Detailed Walkthrough for Mired in Muck
The first step that you need to take is to talk to the guard trapped in the sludge. He can be found outside the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower at the following coordinates. 2848, 0585, 0375.
Once you talk with the guard, he will ask for your help to remove the sludge he is trapped in. This can be done using water.
Next, you want to climb the cliff behind the guard.
Now on top of the cliff, you will see a plant with yellow leaves near the edge. This contains Splash Fruit, so go ahead and grab as much as you want.
Once you have grabbed the Splash Fruit, return to the guard. Open your inventory and choose to hold the Splash Fruit.
Throw the Splash Fruit anywhere near the guard. Now use any weapon to hit it or shoot it using your bow.
This will cause the Splash Fruit to explode and release water to free the guard. Once the guard has been freed, talk to him to complete the quest and receive your reward. He will offer you a Zora Spear with a decayed point. With this, you are done with the quest.
