Tears of The Kingdom: The Mysterious Eighth Guide | Legend of Zelda

The Eighth Heroine of Gerudo.

The lore in Zelda games is always vast and different from each different timeline. It’s interesting to look into them and learn what happens in their version of Hyrule. In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, we can learn more about this version through other means like logs and even side quests. One such quest that talks about the lore of Gerudo is the Mysterious Eighth quest, which talks about a mysterious heroine of Gerudo. In this guide, I will show you how to complete the side quest!

The Mysterious Eighth Guide

When you start the side quest, you will need to find seven balls that are scattered all over the desert area. Some of them are in Gerudo Town, and some of them are outside Gerudo Town. We will start by finding all of the balls in Gerudo Town first.

The first ball (1) you will get in Gerudo Town requires you to complete a side quest from an NPC named Dalia. The ball will be right beside her, but you will not be able to pick it up until you complete her side mission. Once you do, you can then pick up the ball using Ultrahand and carry it to the statue room.

The second ball (2) can be found right next to where you found the first ball. There is a set of stairs that leads up to some boxes and other things, and right next to a large box is a ball.

The third ball (3) can be found in a bar past the man inside a jail cell in the shelter area. In the bar, there will be some cushions on the floor. The ball can be found there.

The fourth ball (4) can be found in the shelter area again. Go to the back of the area where you found the last ball. Instead of going into the bar, go through the room to the left of it. There will be a ladder that takes you to the second floor. On the second floor, look behind you and you will see the ball hiding in an alcove. Use your Ultrahand ability to reach it.

The fifth ball (5) requires you to do another side quest, which involves taking pictures of all of the monuments with the balls on them. Once that is complete, head back to the shelter and you will be able to pick up the ball on the floor.

We now have all of the balls inside Gerudo Town. Now, we will venture outside Gerudo Town to find the two missing balls. The sixth ball (6) can be found in the Kara Kara Bazaar, which is the first village you find when you first enter the region.

This ball also requires you to complete side quest, which is to find a third backpacker that went missing. Once you have finished the quest, you will then be able to pick the ball up.

Seeing as how Gerudo Town is far from Kara Kara Bazaar, it’s recommended to build a vehicle that will hold the ball and travel with it all the way back to Gerudo Town.

The seventh ball (7) is technically in Gerudo Town, but just outside enough to consider it being outside. You will need to climb up a rock formation in coordinates -3798, -2967, 0058.

There, you will find a large mound of sand. What you don’t know is that the sand is hiding the last ball underneath. You will need to use a stick with a Korok-Frond attached to it, which is essentially a large fan. Use the fan to blow the sand away until the ball is free to be picked up and carried to the statue room.

Once all balls are in the statue room, you will need to put all of the balls on the statues with their corresponding symbols. After which, the floor will open up. Investigating the room under the floor will then show you that your next objective is in the Gerudo Sanctuary, which will be marked on your map.

When you reach the Gerudo Sanctuary, look around until you find a large ball. Use Ultrahand to lift the ball up and drop it into the hole in the sanctuary. This will open the path forward.

Keep going forward until you reach what seems to be a dead end. However, you will notice that there is a hole in the middle of the room that is blocked off by stone slabs. Use Ultrahand to make way and drop into the hole. Continue forward and watch out for enemies.

Eventually, you will reach a room with three stone slabs blocking what appears to be the way forward. Use Ultrahand to move the slab on the left. The middle slab contains an enemy, and the right slab contains arrows.

Continue forward and you will eventually reach a breakable wall. Either use explosives or large weapons to break the wall down.

Once the wall is down, you will have to cross a stone bridge. You will need to be fast, because one step on the bridge will cause it to collapse immediately.

After crossing the bridge, you will then reach the goal of the side quest, which is the Statue of the Eighth Heroine Room. There is loot to be obtained here, but remember to examine the stone with writing in front of the statue. Once that is done, return to Gerudo Town and go back to the statue room.

Make your way to the statue room and speak to Rotana. You will have a conversation with her about the discoveries of the room. After the conversation ends, the side quest will immediately be completed.
