Terraria is a game that is still going strong even though it was released way back in 2011. The game had a constant stream of update and people even celebrated when it finally released the 1.0 version of the game. That wasn’t the end though since even now there’s new updates coming to the game that changes things around. It is one of those rare games that is still being worked upon after all these years, and not only that but still has an active modding community. In this guide we’ll show you what are the new armor changes that they added into the game.

Armor Changes Explained | Terraria 1.4.4

In my opinion armor has been one of the weaker parts of the game, they weren’t as varied compared to weapons. Of course, this was before they added new armor types with cool effects which made play the game again.

The game keeps on pulling people back and now that there are new armor changes, I fear that I might need to go back and play the game again. Before that happens let’s go through the different changes the new update made.

Source: rubby – YouTube
  • Snow Armor defense has been buffed, now provides immunity to chilled/frozen.
  • Mining Armor has +1 Defense and gives 10% mining speed per piece.
  • Angler Armor now reduces enemy spawn rate.
  • Shadow Armor now has flexible speed, gives +5% Crit chance instead of 7% Melee speed.
  • Crimson armor damage bonus changed from 2% to 3%.
  • Obsidian Armor has been nerfed, Whip range bonus from 50% to 30% and Whip speed bonus from 35% to 15%.
  • Cobalt Armor defense of each piece increased to a total additional 6 defense.
  • Orichalcum Boots now give 8% damage bonus.
  • Titanium Armor can now only spawn shards every 1/6th of a second. No longer spawns shards from statue spawned enemies.
  • Hallowed Armor Holy Protection buff now activates 100% of the time as long as you’re not in cooldown.
  • Clorophyte Armor’s leaf crystal can’t miss anymore, now has a distance limit.
  • Tiki Mask now gives 10% whip range, and the whole set gives an additional 20% whip range.
  • Shroomite Helmet now applies its bonuses on all ranged weapons that are not guns or bows.
  • Spectre Armor Hood teammate healing range increased from 1200, to 3000. It’s now a circle instead of a diamond.
  • Beetle Armor (With Scale Mail) buff lasts 33% longer and takes much less time to charge up.
  • Solar Armor Shield/Dash now scales with melee damage bonuses.
  • Stardust helmet now gives +1 sentry count and the other parts give 15% whip range.

And that’s all of the armor changes in the new update for Terraria. Let’s hope there’s more fun updates in the future.
